I found a Motorola Razor V3 but I'm not sure what I should do with it. It's in amazing condition and has a Vodafone sim card in it but I think it's unlocked. I don't have a clue how much it's worth second hand and I don't have the box or any of the accessories so selling it would be a pain anyway. I do have an old Motorola charger which I used to charge it up but that's about it. Any suggestions?

If I were you I would find a contact in the phonebook & text them asking who's phone it is and find a way of getting it back to the rightful owner.

I'd rather throw it in the bin than go through all the effort just to get a fiver for it.

I already have a charger but I also have an iPhone so yeh... I know it's not worth much at all, I've seen second hand ones sell on ebay for £20 to £30 but that's with the box and all it's accessories, I just have the phone and some random Motorola charger that didn't even come with it. Maybe I could give it away to the less fortunate? :eusa_eh:

I found a phone worth £700 at the time (it was modded for someone who was disabled in some way, can't remember now) and phoned round the contacts until we found an owner. I was rewarded with £5 for my efforts. At my age £5 was a crap load of money lol.

I found it in a car that a guy traded in. He said it runs fine but must of forgotten to tell us about how it overheats all the time  And for that reason, there's no way I'm gonna help the guy out.

Hold onto it then for atleast a few weeks, what if he remembers and comes back?

Also it's worth noting the phone will be blacklisted, making it impossible to trade-in anywhere and I also suggest you dispose of the sim card as well. Once the IMEI is blacklisted it won't work on any UK Networks anyway am I right?

It's not really worth enough to sell so I might as well just keep it as a cheaper phone. I'll stick my sim in it and use it for things where it's most likely to get lost or stolen.

Just looked into it a bit more. Every phone is assigned an IMEI number, and when a phone is stolen you report the IMEI number to your network and they then blacklist the IMEI number, the blacklist applies to every UK phone network and some abroad so once a stolen phone has been blacklisted, it'll no longer work with any UK Sim card.

When trading in a phone at a pawn shop or trade-in shop, they check all phones against the IMEI blacklist first and if it's on the blacklist it's likely they'd call the police who could arrest you on suspicion of stealing.

And if you sell it on eBay, the person who buys it will realise it doesn't work and will then probably get refunded by Paypal and you're reputation would be ruined.

Give it back is my suggestion.

keep it as a spare, there will be a time when you really we need a spare phone.

Them Mobile Phone Recycle sites are stupid.

My phone is £550, and Mazuma offers me £135 (http://www.mazumamobile.com/sell_mobile_phone.php?action=view&prod=1324)

A Joke.

I used all the credit prank calling people. There's no point selling it as I've already said, if the phone gets blocked while my sim card is in it, will it effect my sim?

I love how you ignored him completley by overwriting him with another bad suggestion, lol. RETURN IT TO THE OWNER.

Not really, finding it is a bit different to going out of your way to break the law.

I direct you here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1013573&postcount=1

When you change the IMEI don't you think the network will see an odd one and think "eh? hang on a sec, whats going on here?"

If I ever found a phone I would keep it, simply for the reason that I lost mine and it wasn't returned.

I sold my old one to mazuma mobile for £9. Sell it there or somewere else. Throw the other stuff away :PDo you all completely ignore ***** and my posts? You cannot sell a stolen phone, once the IMEI has been blacklisted no place will buy it off you as any reputable phone buyer checks everything against the blacklist. Some of them will ring the police if they find an IMEI has been blacklisted.

I agree or hand it in to the Police Station as if it has been reported stolen you could get into trouble if you retain possession of it.

Even better, keep it nearby your computer. If your computer goes wrong and you start to get angry, hit the cheap £5 phone instead of the more expensive computer :)

Keep it, only worth £5 odd. As you said, the guy sold you a dodgy car so its only fair tbh :)

That just sums you up in one question!

I would either keep it as a spare as you never know when you may need it or sell it and make a bit of cash (if you need the money)
