Just heard Malcolm MacDonald talk about him on a local radio station, so I checked BBC and there was the headline. Only days after his charity match :(

RIP.

Why is every bloody dying? for me this is worse than the death of MJ, much worse, this man did a lot for charity and was a loving, kind person, besides in my opinion being one of the best managers of all time.

I actually shed a tear when I saw it pop up on SkySports News... :'(.

RIP, true legend.

I can tell you right now that MJ did more than enough for charity, more than any other single person living or dead.

RIP Sir Bobby Robson.

Fair point, but this is Sir Bobby, he's an absolute legend, in my eyes, he means more to me than MJ ever did.

Very sad day.

I think everyone deep down new it'd be sooner rather than later, but we just didn't want to believe it.

Still can't believe it.

Yeah did you notice at the charity game, he aged like 10 years in a year because of the cancer.

yeah he looked like he was suffering, which makes his death in a way, welcome, now atleast we know he isn't hurting.

A true footballing great and a gent has died today.

He achieved so much with so many clubs in his footballing and managerial career, indeed he almost got us all the way to the World Cup Final if it wasnt for those pesky Germans.

The football world will miss him a lot, an asset to the game.

RIP Sir Bobby Robson.

Wouldn't go that far. There are alot better people in the world then MJ who gave alot more to charity.

RIP amazing manager and never stoped contributing to Football and charity after his time with Newcastle ended :)

Just read this on Sky. Very sad. Great man.

I hadn't really seen him alot ever since he stopped being Newcastle United manager but when I did I was shocked at how he had aged.

I'm not really suprised that you've still got them seeing as the game wasn't even a week ago .

I can't think of anyone who had a bad word to say about Sir Bobby. A great guy and one who loved football dearly. As Gordon Brown, he said he epitomised football. He will be sadly missed.

RIP

I remember when he used to manage Newcastle I mean that's only what, 2004? He looked perfectly fine then, but he looked like he'd been through a war at the charity match.

i know this is months old, but stuff it, just watching the memorial service for sir bobby today, and it's only just hit me that he has died, it's still surreal, it's just starting to sink in that such a great human being is gone, sadly no longer with us, even though it's over a month old, this brought a tear to my eye...

sorry mods for bumping this, just thought i'd express my feelings on this, again. :(

RIP Sir Bobby. :'(
