Hey,
currently there are the following six forums:
-report normal rare values
-report super rare values
-report seasonal rare values
-report misc values
-report credit values
-report recolor values

however, I think there only needs to be the following three:
-report normal rare values
-report super rare values
-report categorized rare values

oh and due to alot of people now posting screenies, maybe there could be a seperate forum for them? Since the rule is 3 values per report but a screenie is just 1 trade and an image rather than a report, so maybe a forum like:
-post trade-screenies here

I was going to suggest something like having just a thread in each section for screenies but it would be better in threads + I believe only rvrs and the thread starters can reply. Tell me what you think of my idea as a whole :)

or else just one forum with prefixes

Makes sense to me but then again, I'm not really at liberty to comment given I hardly use those particular forums :P. I didn't even know there was a recolour section... is that recoloured norms? o.O Seems a bit pointless indeed.

Orrrrrrrrrrrrrr one forum with just the 3 prefixes :D.

I have a seperate little question on the topic of RVs, when a normal user posts a trade involving a very rare super (one which the value changes based on a singe trade), do you kind of just assume it's correct or do you somehow try to find out if it's genuine information (even if there is a screenie)?

I think the screenie sub forum would be good because you know for almost definate that the trade has happened.

Trust me, a screenie is no more valid than me saying I bought a Throne for 100 CS. I could make a screenie of any trade you want within minuites (the time would depend on how long it took me to find pictures of the required furni :P).

That is why I asked the question of whether the reporters assume the screenies are genuine when they involve very big supers.

Both screenies and the rare value reporters word could be in-accurate.
With a screenie you could trade a clone and with the reporters they could just make them up

Or you could just make a screenie :S.

We're not debating the trustworthiness of the reporters, I'm sure Habbox has that covered. I'm talking about random people who submit values. I imagine the answer to my question is that they do carry out background checks, so it's OK.

One way to check is if a trade seems reasonable + it sometimes depends on the buyer and/or the seller to know whether it's true :P for example, if a throne screenie was posted right now as being sold for 95cs - we'd know it is almost certainly a fake, if you know what I mean. And about the buyer, I know someone who would pay alot more than others, for rare supers. And for the supers which are rare but not too rare, we can go by multiple trades, rather than just one.

This sounds like a good idea.

More load times reduced and less bandwidth, Jin must be happy about this idea :D

Also a screeny takes more effort to fake...

Minimally. The point is it is no more valid than posting trades in words. Nevermind anyway, it was a silly question really.

Update to my idea

Due to the rare values manager now adding the 'state of an item' to the super rare values pages (which should be added to normal rares/misc in the future), the forum for screenie trades could also be for reporting a change of state in an item, maybe? For more information on the whole change of state thing, see here: http://www.habboxforum.com/showthread.php?t=596222

I think all of them should be merged into one, not as many reports are posted nowadays and it would be much easier if only one forum existed.

Yeah why not just merge them all into one with the labels; "Super", "Normal", "Categorised" and maybe "Ratings"? The ratings one would be where users can open discussions on the ratings of particular rares and put forward any evidence they may have. There would just be one label for ratings regardless of the type of rare :).

Sounds like a winning idea to me. :)

Yeah. The forums used to be very active when people wanted to be Rare Values Staff and it was by far the most sought after department on Habbox. However, with trading being messed up and not as fun for the majority of people there has been a dramatic downturn which in turn means there is no need for all the forums and this idea will be quite apt for the current usage and demand.
