You have what 7 stuck threads?

Yes, and for people with lower resolutions, they would have to scroll down to see any active threads. It's just effort.
I don't use the sports forum but some of the threads do seem a bit un-needed to be stickied...

Do you have any suggestions on which threads you would think is best to "Unstick"? As I'm not an average user in the sports forum like yourself. :)

Well the ashes thread will be gone when that's over, football kits one can be unstuck most teams have released their kits, and I'd say the moto gp one which hasn't had any posts for 6days.

Football kits and MotoGP have been unstuck.

Tbh F1 should be un-stuck to though, its rather pointless, if news comes out people just post a new thread and discuss it there, becuase diffrent people seem to be intrested in diffrent stories from F1, eg the massa crash, alot of people were intrested in it and therfor posted, whereas they may not in another thread about pole position or sumin. Trying to discuss 2-3 diffrent stories which have happened in the same thread will just get confusing to.
I for one am a F1 fanatic as most of you know and i havnt even attemted to post in the thread becuase it just confuses me :S

I don't think there's any need for the F1 sticky either, although there has been increased discussion in Formula 1 as people prefer to post news as posts rather than threads. If you ignore the thread for a few days though you'll quickly lose track as it's all over the place.
As for the technology forum, this also has a lot of useless stickies:
Folding@Home (hasn't been posted in since February!)
Computer Jargon
Anti-Virus list (People just make a thread about Anti-Virus's anyway and it's generally suggested Avast or AVG for free or NOD32 or Commodo for paid.)
This forum wide announcement can also be got rid of considering Habbox now has a new layout: http://www.habboxforum.com/announcement.php?f=134&a=259

The F1 discussion should stay as it is more popular.

There are 3 of us Adam.
& we cant keep creating threads between eachother to discuss new things, I think we should get it restuck.
Campaign much?
The MotoGP thread is good, as its a good place for the minimal fans to discuss it, the reason it's dead atm is because nothing is going on as it's the MOTOGP SUMMER BREAK - nothing happens as they're all on holiday

There are very few fans on the forum so by the time we come online to look for the threads they may very well have disappeared, it saves space on the forum having one sticky. There is no problem with having a sticky, afterall they are to make people's lives easier.

It also reduces space, when looking for non-stuck threads on low resolutions, and a sticky for 3people doesn't justify itself.

I always thought the point in having a stickied thread was because a considerable amount of members posted in it and it was fairly active. There has been a few times were the MotoGP thread hasn't been posted in for a few days and I only ever see you or Adam post it in. So I don't think it really needs to be stuck. :)

The reason Adam and I requested it to be stuck in the first place was because we can't just keep posting threads which are conversations between us two.

Just because the threads been unstuck, it doesn't mean to say you can't still post it in... If it's as active as you say it is it will never go 14 days without being posted in thus won't be closed due to being bumped, however I do see the points you are trying to put across :P

Well the Summer break has another 17 days... so do we just spam it in the meantime?
I wouldn't argue for it if I didn't think I had valid points, at the end of the day there are now 4 stickies in the sports forum.
Look at the WWE news & discussion, that worked successfully for that sport rather than posting individual threads - why can't we have that for MotoGP?
Just because there are less of us does not mean we don't have the right to a sticky.
Naturally the MotoGP season comes to an end and I'll be more than happy when it does for it to be unstuck...
Around the same amount of people post in the Ashes thread but that's still allowed.
In 2 weeks the Ashes will be over and that will leave 3 stickies in the sports forum.
So I really do not think another sticky can hurt, 4 lines doesn't affect people really does it?

You've just proved yourself there's only two people who regularly posted in the thread, you could add each other on MSN and discuss it that way or just create threads occasionally or just keep digging that one up (Bookmark it).
It'd be like creating a sticky in the Console Gaming section for the two people who still play FIFA 2002 or a sticky in Discuss Anything for the two people who like train spotting.
If there are only 2 of you using the thread to talk to each other how about you go on MSN so then there is no need for the thread to be stuck, and if there are three you can have a three way convo :)

I would suggest unsticking the motorgp one - if it isn't that popular why stick it? I don't think convenience of posting is a very good reason. If members are that interested then they can use the search facility. Just because there is no F1 race for three weeks doesn't mean there isn't any news. It's popular threads that are stuck such as the F1 which is very popular. The Ashes will be unstuck soon and that has been very popular. If there are few fans for a sport then a new thread can be created because it will disappear very quickly.

Maybe we want to use the forum to discuss it?
And we can't "keep digging it up" as there is a double posting rule - which doesn't apply in our stickied thread so that's beneficial.
I don't add people from online on my msn - so why should I start just because we can't discuss it in a sticky?
There is need for that sticky & we shouldn't be discriminated against because there aren't many of us :S
It's nice to be able to discuss it with people. There was NO need for it to be unstuck.
@ Rosie - that's the point, if I create a thread with race results adam or luke or thewolf then have to search for it if they come online a few hours later. It's not causing anybody ANY harm.

Yes you do i know for a fact you have Matt and Leah on MSN. And as far as i know you haven't met them.
In my eyes you're being slightly arrogant asking for a sticky for two people. It is like me and my friend asking for a sticking about Bull fighting because we do it and don't want to keep making thread when the big fight is on in Madrid. You may say no one knows about it, well i don't have a clue what "Moto GP" is and i am an avid sports fan. Personally i can't see there being much support for a bull fighting thread so you can't complain when no one is jumping around for a Moto GP one.

Yes but that's not the criteria for a thread to be stuck and there is a search facility :P It's not discrimination. On the basis of your argument most of the threads in this forum should be stuck!
Anyway, they have both been unstuck so it's all academic now.

It was an example of a scenario - you can't tell us not to post on the forum it's rude. The thread is also a place to draw other MotoGP fans in.. the thread has been there for several months & the other day Angel-Charlene posted in it saying she's going to get tickets for the Valencian GP - so there we go.. we meet another MotoGP fan, which is very handy as we love discussing our sport with more people.
I wouldn't ask if it was for a stupidly unpopular sport which won't have many fans, but for all we know there are more fans on the forum and the thread is good to find them (just like we found Charlene was a fan) as MotoGP has millions of fans worldwide as it's a worldwide sport.
There are nearly as many MotoGP fans as F1 fans, infact there were only 20 thousand less people at the MotoGP at Donington the other week than there were at the F1 at Silverstone.
If it was a thread for another form of racing I like.. say British Superbikes which events attract 40k people to an event yeah it'd be stupid asking for a stickied thread looking for fans but MotoGP is a worldwide popular sport and it's good to meet new fans and discuss things.

There is a Sports forum for a reason
People were complaining it's too general in the sports forum the other week, random threads about random sports & in that thread these stickies were mentioned as a good thing.

I don't think that's true at all, even though it does no harm having numerous stickies (other than clogging up the forum) it's not fair some threads get unstickied whereas others doesn't, especially not when there's very few posters & posts in the moto gp one
