I was just watching BBC3 and there was a 60 second news thing in-between shows and one story was "sexting" this is where teenagers send naked pictures of themselves to each other..

Have you ever heard of this or taken part it in LOL. It's news to me.. What do you think?

I know people who do it and have seen many pictures of people's exs that I'm sure they wouldn't want floating around. It seems like a stupid thing to do especially since there's nothing besides 'trust' stopping someone from spreading the pictures. It's also illegal if you're under 16 (might be under 18 can't remember), the person who asked for the picture is breaking the law, child pornography etc etc.

I got a story about this, a girl from my step sisters school

I don't think it's about like mates showing you photos of their ex's naked because that's more like general banter, the name just makes me smile

god some people are really stupid to do it, doesn't matter if it's your boyfriend/girlfriend surely you should be showing them in flesh and not by picture, it's obviously going to get sent around through blackmail + revenge or just because they're *****. never knew it was called sexting lol but ye new girls who come up have a habit of sending them to one person and it being round the whole school the next day. this diner lady's daughter did it and someone went up to her with the picture and zoomed up to the curtains in the picture and asked if she recognized them then zoomed out onto her daughter standing there naked :eusa_whis she took off her appron n walked out the canteen (Y)

I actually remember this time when i bought a phone of this guy at my dads work who we know well and his wife yano the whole fam. I look on pictures like a curious year 7 would on their new phone and it was full of naked pics of his wife like EVERYTHING profile zoom in etc etc i was like okayyy and yes I did delete them.. i have never looked at them the same in all theses years. And they're fully matured adults haha

One of my friends took a close up photo on her phone of her boyfriend naked. She left her phone beside her and as I was talking to her, another girl grabbed it to look at it, and saw the photo on accident and said "I have been scarred for life", showed me. then it got passed from person to person. At the time I was bothered but now I don't care. It's just a body really! We were born naked, why not live naked (obviously within the law).

Althought the main issue, which Luccy is pointing out,
Is the teenage and underage aspect of posting these photos.

There is a danger they come into the wrong hands,

Althought some say its the parents responsiblity to control what kids do, But thats immpossible,

What can we do then?

It is about trust and the problem with younger people is that, generally, when you're younger you trust easier and fall 'in love' easier so you're more likely to do it. If you feel sexually confident then why not?

Although, there is the flipside of when they do leek and you realise nearly everyone has seen you naked. Takes away the mystery for future lovers. :(
