Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon
House of Flying Daggers
Kung Fu Hustle
Shaolin Soccer
Hero

Or anything similar? They look quite good but I've never seen them. Reviews/recommendations of similar films would be appreciated. Thanks.

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon is fantastic, albeit overrated. House of Flying Daggers is my personal favourite on that list - the last sequence is notably one of my all time favourites. :P Hero and Kung-Fu Hustle are great. Never seen Shaolin Soccer.

Check out some older Chinese Jackie Chan films. The first Police Story blows me away every time, although it's fairly different in setting to what you listed. Snake in the Eagle's Shadow is pure classic kung-fu, and Drunken Master is essential viewing.

I agree that Crouching Tiger, Hidden Draggon is overrated. It's still great though.

Kill Bill, both volumes, if you want a cool and stylish homage to kung fu flicks.

Iron Monkey

Ha, respect for Iron Monkey. Even among friends who are into such films I've never seen anyone else whose seen Iron Monkey.
You can normally find quite a few good kung fu films in the bargin bin in supermarkets but it's just your luck whether they are good or not if it's a spur of the moment type thing.
I put off watching Kung Fu Hustle for ages because I thought it was meant to be a Scary Movie style rip off of normal kung fu films but when I got round to watching it I loved it, the humour was actually very good. :P
