View Full Version : Current state of an item - now on Habbox!

This thread has been posted with the permission of Netaxes, the current Habbox rare values manager.

If you reload the super values page, you will now see that we've added the 'current state' of an item. Although not every super has it yet, Netaxes is doing it right now but it shouldn't take too long! So, if you like this idea then it will most likely be implemented to the normal rare values page and maybe even the categorized rare values page. Post your feedback below and feel free to enter the poll above!

Oh and incase you wanted to know, the 'states' are:
-Common (green)
-Rare (blue/purple)
-Very Rare (yellow)
-Ultra Rare (red)

Thanks,
Mr-Trainor

I like it, however is it done by what the staff feel or the public aswell or just what the rare values manager feels like putting? :S

Netaxes

The whole department had a chance to decide for each one. We put a list of all the supers and what we thought should go with each one. We then went over it again, making the necessary changes.

They can be changed and they will need to be changed when it is needed.

The one's at the moment are just from the staff in the department however I may contact general management asking if there can be a thread (maybe in this forum?) where people can suggest changes :) Or it could be added to my other forum change idea to the report rare values forum. One forum could be 'post screenie trades here + state changes' :P

Great idea, but some of the ratings dont work well with others. Like theres about 15 pink pillows and about 5 turqoise but the pink pillow has a rarer rating, but i dont know how you decide the ratings so that could be right for all i know.

We did change the pink pillow after a discussion within the department but the manager used what was orginally posted :P I'll let him know now :)

Nice addition, it would be nice if you could do it for Rares aswell considering some are quite rare. Maybe, 'Common', 'Rare', 'Very Rare' or something.

As stated on the first post, the same thing will be implemented to the other values pages (normal rares, + maybe misc), if people like the whole idea. We basically chose to do it on supers first to see peoples opinions :)

So, what values are used for each state? E.g: If there's less than X than it's state Y. Or is it not based like that and put whatever people think it is? :/

Also, let me disagree on one. The eXpert sleeping bag (which is STILL incorrectly named the Safety X sleeping bag, it was given to all 4 types of Xs, not just safety) is 'rare' yet the green sleeping bag is 'very rare'.

There are only around 60 expert bags given out, and not many of them are actually in circulation as many Xs, including myself, will never sell them as a memory of being on the team. Yet the Green Sleeping Bag was given to anyone that got 5 weeks in SnowStorm, which is a lot more than 60. :/

Also, the Aqua smoke machine manages to get a common, yet moon lamps and polar bear sofas, which anyone could get tons of a few months back, get given a rare? A lot of corrections need doing to be fair.

Incorrect names - we can't change names of items until a new panel is made. This has been brought up many different names which are wrong, which is alot of them tbh :P all names will be corrected when we are able to do so :)

with the lime and x bag - it's not about how many were gven out, it's about how many remain. I think 50 rock pillars were given out but only 3 remain. The lime sleeping bags are very rare to come across but I do agree the eXceptional sleeping bags are also more than rare and will notify the manager :D

Oh and the states will be changed as we go along and I understand that there will be a few errors atm. Also, the states of items change every so often as well so they will be updated accordingly when they require a change :)

Just because a item is a high value for example 30cs, it doesent mean a lower valued item isent rarer.

Aslo I was thinking about this new update and doesit mean say if a collecter has got many of these and not many are left in circulation does that make them rarer or is it just the amount of them on the hotel?

In theory it's a great idea. Of course it needs to be based on the quantity there are in circulation and this needs to be accurate rather than just an educated guess. Maybe an "unknown" option would be suitable in some cases or at least some displayed as "Common/Rare" for instance if they are borderline or you are slightly unsure? Habbox will only get slated for "fixing" if the ratings are based purely on a few people's opinion.

As for Normal and Categorised Rares, I really don't see how you can find accurate ratings for them, nor do I think it's really neccessary. I'd go as far as Normal Rares maybe, but that's it.

Finally, I think a small overview of what the categories mean, needs to be included on the Rare Values Pages, unless there is and I missed it?

I can't wait to see the effect this has with everyone going, "omgzz Thrones and Dinos are common I'm only paying 20HCs!!!" and "omgzzz Sky Dragons aren't very rare I offer 10 credzz!!!" :P.

Overall though, a good idea which could prove fairly useful :).

Edit @above: If a collector has every Gold Dragon, as long as that habbo isn't banned, all those Dragons are still in circulation. However as I think you said, the rating is not relevant to the value. So if someone collected all the Gold Dragons and started selling them at over twice the value of the Purple Dragon, they would keep the label "Vey Rare" even though they hold a value way above any "Ultra Rare" :).

@Splock - it's how many on active accounts which are known
@Robald - we probably will have to do rare/very rare (etc) sometimes, thanks for pointing that out. With who chooses, there will be (hopefully), someone where or the forum where people can suggest changes
@Wilkd - who said I copied from hhgs? I've had this idea for a while now and some people on Habbo have requested that we have this on our values pages. Just because another site had this in the past, doesn't mean to say it's copied.

Netaxes

Like I said in one of my earlier posts, the states will have to be changed for when people get banned, these are not set in stone.

@Wilkd, its like saying other fansites are coping us for having Rare Values. It was requested, like Mr-Trainor said, and we decided to add it to our site.

yes and no. what i think id like to see rather than rarity is approx quantity. at the moment its says rare but you think how rare?

also, a lot of people come on this category in particular asking question like: how many super smokes are out there? an approx quantity would answer that question for the entire set.

say someone buys a purple dragon (i think there is 6 but not many will know that) putting quantity = 6 would ensure that you have a really rare item rather than it saying ultra rare a total quantity could be more useful.

it might help buyers for quantites if theres new items such as for example the ukash lasers, diner poster, blue monolith etc. people pay like a throne plus for a new item thinking they only minimal quanities when infact their upto 100 and it wont be worth that much.

there was an idea i had ages ago about the values and that was keeping the values as CS but changing the RD to C - credit values. every trade throught habbo today is either in CS decimals or credit coins and i think that would be more useful to the traders. knowing exactly how many credits an item is worth. i do know that 1CS = 14C.

good update but there are things i would like to see like a credit value so people are aware of others overpricing. i see that many times with people selling thrones for credits

Mr-Trainor

The reasons I don't think the quantity idea should be added, is because we can never be sure of an items real quantity and tbh it's not easy to find every owner of for example, a greek_block from when they were accidentally released. How do we know who bought them? Also, we never know you could be 'secretly' collecting a super rare, making the quantity once again inaccurate. We couldn't use the amount of how many were given out because people get banned, some people used to delete them (you can't delete now).

you cant delete furni now? thats great i met a guy once with those exact intentions to go round gathering supers keep 1 and delete the rest. think he wanted to do that with jupiter smokes

Black_Apalachi

It would be foolish to attempt to label each rare with an exact quantity because as Mr-Trainor said, it's impossible to know.

[...] there was an idea i had ages ago about the values and that was keeping the values as CS but changing the RD to C - credit values. every trade throught habbo today is either in CS decimals or credit coins and i think that would be more useful to the traders. knowing exactly how many credits an item is worth. i do know that 1CS = 14C. But then we won't have guidelines for trading furni for furni normally (not involving HCs or Credits). People expect to not have to pay as much when offering "pure" HCs/Credits. Maybe including values in Credits as an additional guide, would be useful however.

If you're thinking of me (I was attempting to collect them after receiving one of the first ones given out), I was deffinitly not intending to delete them! :P

I personally don't understand the concept of deleting furni to increase its value.

First off, I can't imagine someone being willing to risk say 50T of supers on the off chance that people will suddenly start offering more than that for the remaining item.

Secondly, why would you delete them when you can just hide them in your hand, or even a locked room?! You may as well do this because why should people believe you have deleted them anyway?

Finally, surely if you have all of a particular super, you already have control over its value based on which offers you are willng to accept?

The whole idea of deleting furni seems a bit silly to me (as does the way it's not even possible any more - don't know why Habbo would prevent it).

Mr-Trainor

I agree with the whole thing about deleting furni (how it's abit stupid :P), when I had my 12 White monos, people were telling me to delete them but I didn't because I'd spent a few thrones on them :P
