From what I've gathered previously - it's when the Xbox has failed to update itself properly.

Yeah it's fixable. But im saving up for BMX parts. Don't really want to be wasting anymore time with it.

I guess I shouldn't of updated my dashboard. It sucks that they won't fix it for free but they will fix a hardwear failiure (3 red lights) for free.

Stupid Microsoft.

Tell them it's got RROD, they'll fix it regardless. These days they just throw it and send a refurb.

If you mean E74, that's now covered under the warranty as of recent, covers RROD and E74.

I'm going to send it off to microsoft before I sell on ebay to see if they fix it. If indeed they do fix it for free Ill be selling it on ebay with an extra couple of games for £79 'Buy it now'

Why have you said you cannot afford repairs in the ebay sale, when it's free to repair it? You get a free box, a free mail label and you send it off to Germany for free and then they send it back to you for free, they also send you one month xbox live gold membership free.
