Do you have an Alpha or Beta personality?

Well, i was reading another delightful feminism post (http://hugoschwyzer.net/2006/05/25/words-are-not-fists-some-thoughts-on-how-men-work-to-defuse-feminist-anger/) filled with the normal annoyances and common myths that grate me so, but within the comments came about an interesting point. That of an alpha or beta personality as raised a posted called "Technocracygirl" (hope they dont mind me borrowing the point) can read thought to see where it all comes from if interested.

ANYWAY

Point was, do you conciser yourself to have an alpha or beta personality?

In a somewhat pointless attempt not to invalidate the results to much i've hidden this:
Basically i wasn't to see, at least on the forum, how much of a role gender really plays in terms of whether people conciser themselves alpha or beta personalties :) Didnt want this said in case people decided to vote in order to try and forfil the prediction or go against it rather than just posting the truth.

Alpha, but not in the sense of being a "lad" and trying it on with every woman I see, just in the sense that I don't so much get fazed in that situation and don't usually leave my opinion unvoiced if it's an important one. I'm by no means confrontational in that I don't like things to get too heated as it's just effort and seems pointless, but in my last year of college my English class had just 3 guys (one of whom was just fairly quiet anyway and the other had long hair and a high voice, and some people genuinely didn't know if he was male or female for a while) and with a lesbian feminist teacher I had to be the man's point of view for pretty much everything that came up, so I'm quite used to being that standalone voice and it's not usually a problem for me. I would slip in the occasional "she should have been in the kitchen" and "but if we had things your way who would make me dinner" but that just got them wet frankly because I'm so charming and non-violent about it all

I'm gonna go ahead and say i think of my self as an alpha, as pretentious as that sounds :p
I'm more than happy to take the lead if no one else wants it, or if its just somthing i'm actually interested in. Lazyness is really my only counter balence :P
As a charicteristic though i quite like others who are more towards the alpha personalty, i much prefer someone who will disagree and debate somthing with me, to someone who just agrees even when they dont "/

I'm alpha female, especially when it comes to my group of friends & work wise. If I have to work in a group, if it's people I like/don't like or don't even know I still like taking charge because I just can't stand if it things don't go the way I want it and I generally think my ideas are better than everyone elses even if that isn't the case so I probably come across as bossy, if someone tries to take control I normally refuse to help and I'll act as a "beta" female and be like "not bothered" until I get my way lolol :$

Most people just take the first idea someone gives and are happy to go along with it because they can't be bothered to think or are too scared to give their ideas :rolleyes: Same with friends I'm deffo "leader", if we're organising to go out I usually have to decide or make the arrangements 'cause they only ever say "if you want" or "i'm not bothered" :/

Anyway ye when it comes to relationships though I just think it's natural for the boys to "lead" the girls but if I'm not romantically linked or whatever I won't hesitate to try take charge over a guy :D

Init I agree. Nah seriously though I hate that sort of person, fair play if they do agree with me but when they don't they should say so rather than trying to just be me

i think i'd say i'm a beta male, i'm laid back and cool with whatever. i don't feel the need to take control or be an alpha male i'm quite content with chilling :8

Think is should have defined some terms etc:
Alpha basicly equals the dominat one and beta the submissive. Being beta generally indicates in alot of situations you a bit of a push over and easly influenced etc. Alpha is more able to take charge and will useually be the one to make more decisions etc "/

At least in my understanding of the, What were other people taking alpha and beta to mean?

i'm normally just chilled out and go with whatever but if i want something or feel that something, it won't go unnoticed. :P

I tend to be Beta unless I'm in a group of Betas. Because then no body takes control and no decisions are made and when that happens I get annoyed, so I just go "Right! blah blah blah."

Yeah it depends what situation I'm in.

If someone needs to take control then it's generally me, otherwise I'm just like yeahh whateverr, and I let someone else take control 'cause I cba.
