Five tourists and a Pilot in the helicopter and just the one Pilot in the small aircraft.
Witness account: “I was actually watching the white plane as it was heading south. It was around 50 feet above the helicopter and he was banking heading toward Manhattan. He banked quite hard and the wing actually snapped off and caused the plane to then drop and it hit back rotor of the helicopter, snapping that off,”
One black box has been recovered already by divers it appears.
Edit: Atleast one killed

I wonder why it was claimed there was one survivor, almost all news sources went along with that story for a while?

Looking at the first two pictures shows that anyone surviving would be quite low from that crash and the impact of the water. R.I.P to them all :(

That first picture didn't look promising for survivors.
RIP to them all.

How did it happen anyway :s Surely they must have seen each other from a distance. RIP to all.

According to what I read, the place saw the helicopter and pulled upwards very quickly and forcefully, causing one of the wings to snap off. The plane then collided into the back of the helicopter, snapping off the back.
R.I.P.
I heard the plane went into a vertical incline, to avoid the helicopter as you said but instead of crashing the wing flew off, hit the helicopter, sending the plane into a spiral which then led to the collision. Probably wrong though. BBC.

Pulling up sharply or banking off wouldn't have snapped the wing of, that's rubbish. One of the pilots, or both, was obviously not having a good look out. That said it is so easy to miss these little planes/helicopters when you are in the air, they are so tiny even at a short distance.
