View Full Version : Whats your rep to post ratio?

Mentor

I thought of this after reading 00chips sig in the reputation system thread in feedback and i thought it was an interesting idea.

How much reputation you receive verses how many posts you've received it over. There alot of confounding factors, you get repped more for stuff in some forums than others and some forums have more high rep power people in em.

That said i think its an interesting measure of your posts average value.

I currently have 6607 posts and 1865 rep points, which means on average each post i make gets 0.28 rep points :)

What sort of ratios do you get?

Yet my old account i was staff on has almost nout :( -- that said it was before the whole appeal rep thing and i think it got almost as much negative as good :P Tis as if some people thought i was augmentative or something

You get a lot of rep when you're staff with people sucking up. Especially when you're an AGM or Admin like I used to be. Most of it probably came from when I was staff. It's a lot harder to get rep now but I've had 5 +reps today I think :8 but I have added like 100 to my post count :eusa_whis

Notice how the majority of people posting in this thread have high amounts of rep and only one or 2 people (including me probably) have low ratios.

Mine is 0.1375418060200669 ;p very small.

These days people tend to rep people who already have a high rep level in anticipation of getting a return. Which means people like me even when I post some good stuff and get positive replies I often miss out on rep.

Yea, and can kinda see why its there as it limits the rep each other groups from just inflating their own reps to much. Maybe some adjustment would be an idea like discussed in the feedback thread, but its definitely a balancing act between making it possible to give rep to good posts even when its from the same person and stopping people abusing the feature for their own gains "/

Plotting ratio v postcount would be interesting, but i'd need alot more data to really even it out in to anything that'd be worth the trouble, if we start pushing 20,30 pages tho, mayhaps :p

Yea, high requirements make it a bit harsh for new members, but are kinda needed with the 5 year old, 10,000 post 8000 rep folks still about, or theyed be adding 100-200 rep with every + or - :p

Not sure if the forum software would support that, but it could be a good solution if so. Maybe go suggest it in a thread in feedback, i think there are a few on the topic around still (could always make new one if not)

Haha, thanks very much, but I thought I had a decent amount of rep for such few posts, in comparrison to some people! :P

You start with 50 *i think* so at first the numbers are a little inflated, after all, your first post would get you a ratio of 50, so at first its still pretty low amounts of rep. It just equals out at a better ratio :P

Really? I don't remember that, but it was ages ago I joined. I still think it's fairly good I can rep 4, at such low posts, I don't always see that on other folk! :P I'm grasping at straws here.

Haha, I sort of come and go! Like right now I'm getting in to posting, I don't even play habbo or anything like that, I quite like what's talked about on the forum though!
But I've seen folk with like 400 posts and one rep power, so I dunno how that is. It's not like folk gave me rep while I wasn't on! But now I have 156, so thank you :D

Posting rubbish i guess :P Yea, i havent even been on habbo in more than 4 and a half years :P I don't think the majority of the main forum users do really ether. Habbo forum folk generally don't venture this far :p

Forums got great atmosphere and community, which is what attracts me i'd say :p

Yup I agree, most folk are really friendly here, which is nice, even if you don't know them!
I've never played habbo, I have a thing a habbo person thing, but it was never used.

Well 2558 Posts and 730 Rep Points

So 3558:730 = 3.5 (or 3.504 if you don't want to round up).
