I have Windows Server 2008 installed on this desktop, I have a laptop which is on XP, and another two desktops which also are XP, I also have an xbox..

This desktop (Windows server 2008) is connected to the router by cable..the others are wireless.

I was wondering if i could connect them all up and use this desktop (Windows server 2008) as like a file sharer where all the other pc/laptops with xp can use it and watch movies and listen to music ect. that is stored on this desktop..? and all others have to access this pc to get the what they want ect..

I'm kinda new to this kinda thing aha, anyways

There was no need for Server 2008 for that lolz, you just have to right click and share the folder, making sure they are all in the same workgroup.

I kinda knew thats lolz, however Server 08 is alot faster then most OS'S that are out.

Should really have gone with Windows Home Server, it works really well and doesn't need as much config.

Windows Home Server is just Windows 2003 anyway.

Except it has special utilities designed to make it easier for home use.
