Cobra Starship - Hot Mess

New album just came out today, I've got a webrip of it and I think it's pretty good! It's very different to their previous albums, you can tell its inspired by club music but the Cobra humour is still there. It sounds more like a band than just Gabe singing with some guitars behind him. It sounds more... constructed, but in a mad way.

So yeah, Hot Mess, the album, it's on iTunes, I'm going to buy it this week even though I downloaded it because I think it's pretty damn decent. Have a look for it cuz seriously, it's something different and I think alot of people who were never into Cobra Starship, will like it alottt. Heres one of their songs which they're promoting like mad, Good Girls Go Bad:

I can actually see them hitting it bigtime in the clubs, they're pretty good songs to remix. I'm worried this'll be the last Cobra Starship album though, I think they're going to do something different. :(

They used to be my favourite band, slowly getting a little bit bored of them though unfortunately. I've seen em twice and both times they were brilliant. Also gets on my nerves how everyone bangs on about how Gabe was much better in Midtown - Midtown split up, get over it.

But yeah I got the new album, I'm not really sure what to make of it yet. I really like the song "Living In The Sky With Diamonds" though. ;>

This album is actually really growing on me, although it is a lot more mellow than the others. It's really nice though

Some songs remind me of Midtown, and I dont mean that in a "GABE WAS BETTER THEN" sort of way, its like a mix of Cobra Starship and Midtown in one album :P

Yes they are catchy but i think the majority of their fan-base are just people who jump on band wagons

Theyre not amazingly popular, theyll never hit it bigtime like Metro Station because, as I've seen in concerts, the people who go to Cobra Starship concerts are superhardcore lovers of the band, they're not people who just go to a concert cuz their mates are going :P

Yeah... that's obviously why they're popular.
I can see where you're coming from in the sense that people do that with hated bands (many people love to hate My Chemical Romance/You Me At Six just cause others do etcetc) however I don't think that's the case with this band because you can't really pretend to love a band or not.. you either like them or don't.

Okay I'm barely making sense but I've had like 2 hours sleep but anyhow, I know what I mean haha :D

Edit: Yeah I agree with Pyroka on that one. Oh btw what's the rules on double posting these days? I haven't been on for yonks and I can't remember.

They're not terribly popular really... the only song from them I've heard on the radio was "Good Girls Go Bad," and even then the DJ said, "And that song was from the new band Cobra Starship," and I was like, "No, b****. No."

Hot Mess does sound great... I listen to it on VH1's The Leak a couple weeks ago I think. I loved Viva la Cobra so much.
