the later the better, don't feel the need to get married/engaged early if i'm not sure they're "the one". i don't wanna go through the whole getting married before having kids neither and wanna make sure i only get married once. i'd say maybe early 30s

I dunno, I've been so put off marriage the past couple of years, everywhere I look it seems so bloody depressing, just settling down and having kids. Everyone seems to cheat on their partners, and I don't want some bratty kid growing up and being horrible to me. But then I don't want to be alone, maybe, maybe in my thirties.

i'd only get engaged/married if i was absolutely certain about the person i was gonna be with, i guess the earliest would probably be about 22 perhaps..

I don't really see the whole point in marrage because if you love eachother why do you need a ring to prove that? Also, it's a waste of money. I know someone who spent 25,000 pounds on their wedding and got divorced a year later :S So it hardly proves anything, actually.

Dont want to get married as i dont believe in god and all that so it would be hypocitical of me

marriage is not just religious. all religious have their various customs for marriage. but there are civil marriages, not affiliated with any religion at all. these take place in registry offices, or boats, or nice country houses (basically anywhere that has a liscence).

yeah if you dont believe in god that doesnt mean you cant marry you can still get married at like a registration office

hence why civil partnerships (gay marriages) exist in this country despite, almost all factions of christianity (and most other religions) being against homosexuality.

Well marriage really does bring the relationship closer, getting married will probably make the couple more faithful to each other.

But ye i laugh when people spend ridiculous amount of money on a wedding and get divorce a year later or so.

I don't actually know anyone but seen people in the mags and stuff get divorce after like a few WEEKS into their marriage and had spend like thousands..

Max i'll be spending on marriage will be 1-3k max. That's including the rings, the lot. Yep i'm mean. :8 :P

Gay marriage is totally wrong in my opinion but i suppose ppl have the right to live life as they wish.

I haven't given any thought to it whatsoever. I'm far too busy for a love life at the moment, so I'm avoiding one, but want to make time in the next few years.

I think thats a very bad attitude, sorry...

As soon as I've found her and she is the happiest she can be.

I agree, even if I found the right girl now and everything was fine I'd marry her, although I would prefer if it was around 18-21. Im 15 next month btw...

The age for people getting engaged is definitley falling, I know a few people at 16-17 who are all getting engaged and I personally don't think they know what they're doing.

You'll find most people who get engaged before 18 don't go through with it at any stage and normally end up cheating on each other - the logic being that one proposed to the other to save the relationship.

Quite strange for me at the moment, quite a number of people i went to school with are getting married! , Not that I've been invited to that many... infact hardly any of them invite me.

Proposal/engagement is something I've considered for the last 6 months. I currently share a flat with my long term partner and the number of people who seem to be asking me when I'm going to do it is over whelming!

It breaks down to if you're doing it for love or because you don't want that person to leave you... And in my case if you ever have enough spare money for a bloody ring.

When your younger, you tend to make mistakes.

So I would say, once I finished university which is about... 23, then I find a job get a house and that so thats about 25
