Cast control or WHM sonic?

I was doing some research into alternatives which would work best for myself, and discovered WHM Sonic, which seems quite reasonable, site:

Or good old cast control?

It really depends on what you intend to offer with your shoutcast customers.

I work for WHMSonic, so I can get you it cheaper :)

Cast-control on the other hand - used... but hated.. :) - Reason?: Because when you start a radio it dies. You can't start all servers at once, you can't get them all online. Cluster is a load of rubbish aswell.

I am amazed on how tech-hosts have accomploished to get there Cast-Control working perfectly.

Indeed. I noticed when installing, Cast-Control give the wrong sc_serv and sc_trans files.

Had to download and place them in root/ before I could install. Then on it was easy.

Only problem with it is that it doesn't boot the servers correctly and / or stop them.

That is correct yes. But most web hosting companies would be on this platform now really. Seeing the death of Kloxo really made no choice apart from Webmin, Direct Admin, cPanel and Plesk Power Panel.

It really is up to you. Hey, why don't you start with the Cast-Control lite, it is only $3 so, if all goes wrong, you only lost about £1.90 ;)

I like WHM Sonic best, Ive used both and I have mainly used WHM Sonic, I will be using it soon too :D

They dont support Icecast though.
I'm not installing Shoutcast as it is resource happy and the directory system sketchy

Because its more powerful!

You can have multiple mountpoints and pull listeners between them.

Cheaper isnt better.

I have to be honest I did purchase a 1 year license about 1 year and 2 months ago I think for WHM sonic so I am not sure if its better now
