Thats how much they are worth, some of the things valued about 1gp wont be bought by any one. And things like arrows and logs are only bought in bulk. The stuff which you have on the bank is things which peolpe would throw away.
The reason you dont like RuneScape is because you have not played it properly yet. Perhaps try leveling up some stuff.
