It really depends on what you use to get it. You could use tuna. salmon, lobs, sharks monks or anything, there is different methods, remember, you will need to sell the cooked produce after to reduce your losses.

It cost me under 3m. I bought like 3k lobs at a time, cooked 'em, sold em and bought more. Then done the same with Monks when I hit lvl 94. Made a loss of about 2.5m :/
How did they get 17m :|

Because if you use Lobbies and sell them all back after you've cooked em you don't end up too far off.

And they don't say 2m for 99 cooking.

2m is 99 Firemaking from using Willows.

I prefer getting 99 Hunter, WAY easier and huge profits.

hunter requires more effort and cooking is MUCH easier.

^^ very true
yeah, its only like 17M if you probably calculated how much all one type of fish would be. i did 10k monks at a time, sold, bought another 10k, sold, etc.

it'll cost you 17m but then once you sell the ones you have cooked you'll have only spent around 5m

Hunter took me almost no effort at all. Once you get to red chins it's very easy. Click on your trap and then a couple seconds later pick it up. I got from 65-84 Hunter in a week, then my account got hacked and I lost the will to play :l

still have it just never play anymore.

You can get 65-84 cooking in 1-2 days though. hunter gets tedious and you sometimes have to compete for space to put your traps, however cooking simply requires a few clicks.

i currently have 82 cooking, 76k off 83 and i need around 100k tunas to get to 99, they cost around 108 each on the GE, so i would need 10 mill, but i would not lose this, as when i sell them i will lose about 3 million, as every tuna cooked loses around 30gp in value, not a problem as i have plenty of money already, but it will not cost you 17 mill, but however i have not spent any oney on the fish i used to get to level 82, i fished all that myself so i think it may cost 10-12 mill to get 99 cooknig.

if its costing u 3m with tunas it would cost about 5m if you did lobs/monks/sharks
and you'd get it much much faster :P

people knock tuna because its cheap but 100 xp is nothing to turn your nose at especially with no wastage. people say do shark and monks but whats the point when you lose more money and burn ALOT. so basically its 17 million because there wasting million by burning which is stupid.

the tuna is value for money and 100 xp is still alot. in rogues den you can do 10,000 a day all day which i have and that is 1 million xp. people said when i was 90 ish why u doing tuna? because its cheap and good exp. clearly they'd rather waste 1k for every shark burnt which is silly

values change all the time but when i got 99 cooking my first actual skillcape (quest was first) lobbies were the worst value for money closely followed by shark and tuna was cheapest.

do some planning for 99. work out how much you lose per fish for example raw tuna may cost 100 gp and cooked tuna may cost 80 gp that makes a total loss of 20 gp per tuna but that adds up 10,000 tunas would lose you 200k gp but im just giving an estimate itll be different now.

work it out the cheapest and dearest ways. the difference can be many millions as you know.

If you're not ******ed you don't burn any, i got 70-99 and didn't burn a single fish so?

in rogues den you can do 10000 sharks a day which is like 2.1m xp a day? >_>
