Nobody can delete threads/posts on the forum - full stop including staff.

no because they could delete rulebreaking ones

But then they would realise they made a mistake in regards to rulebreaking which would be a good thing as mods will not get abuse from users saying "why was my post deleted"

Well in normal circumstances editing them would probs get the job done, although there are times u post in the wrong thread (like this originally) where outright removeing the post (not completely, but from the general thread view, can be useful)

Also good if you accidenlty double or tripple post which happens every so often when the forums lagging :)

With a link and warning i dont really think it was anything that shouldnt be posted. True it was basically one large inuendo, but i've seen worse the hoobs, rainbow, teletubbys and animanicac's all of which are aimed at an audience younger than the forums "/
Inuendo is only graphic to those who's minds are dirty enough to read between the lines, its only there if your looking for it. If someone didnt understand the comcepts and would be scared, offended or worried by it, in all likely hood they would not have noticed the jokes at all "/

I'm not really sure on what guidelines are used by the mod's these days, but in some areas such as this i do think there should be some revisions. It would be interested to see the guidelines publicly published to so the community can provide some feedback :)

Yes well the matter you are referring to has been referred to nvr for exactly
what you are suggesting - to see what exactly can be permitted.

I guessed that and that is the one that has been referred. We can only moderate on the information we have got. Hopefully then we will have a standard set :)

The Moderation Department are used to abuse. I don't think deleting posts will achieve anything at all. :)

When that happens to me it says I have tried to post a duplicate post and doesn't allow it. Isn't this the case for everyone?

Yeah but sometimes the post goes to a "page could not be found" and if you hit back and then submit again sometimes it double posts.

However moderators are trained to know that if its an exact copy that it was an accidental double post.

I think he's talking about posting something different twice, and if thats it usually if you edit it apologizing and PM an online mod/smod right away they'll merge it for you :)

In regards to someone mentioning accidentally posting in the wrong thread - like nvrspk said, you can simply immediately PM one of the mods of that forum/any supermods currently online asap after you realize what you've done and ask them to merge it.

The same goes for if you post a thread in the wrong forum, we can move it to the correct one if you PM about it before we catch it and give you a pm/warn/infraction for it. :)

Yes they can...

That's with the exclusion of administrators simply because you can't stop them :P But they're not allowed to.
