I was just thinking, wouldn't it be cool if there was a fansite run by a council, no "owners" but a committe of about 5-10 people who all contribute to things such as paying for hosting, making layouts, creating content, etc... Each council member would have a specific "main" catergorie, eg news managers, radio managers, etc and decisions on the site such as to buy a forum or make another version, etc... But minor decisions will be made by the manager of each catergorie, eg. Content manager might decide to put a new goodie or imager on the site.
Who thinks this ounds like a cool idea? (not that I think anyone will ever do it)

That is basicly what all of the managers are. An owner would go ask them and see what they think,.

I dont think the owners take it into concideration and have a "vote" as much. Unless the owner is very outnumbered in opinion the managers wont get what they want as they are just managers and are not paying for the site and aren't equal. If they all paid for the site and everyone had a formal vote and it was equal then you would have what Im talking about...

Just get a council together, allocate them different roles & jobs, give them access to particular things to edit? If that's what you're saying.

Its the exact same thing as most fansites but theres one-two people at the top who say, yes you can do that.. no you can't.

Yes, but those two people are ultimately in charge, even if the council goes one way they can still decide against it. If you know the story of the round table, how it was amdeto remove the two ends to show that everyone was equal,thats what I want to do, remove the two owners. :)
