Anyone like?
My favourite band currently out there, but by no means the best. I think there the nearest to a "Rock & Roll" group there is since most rock has branched off into sub-genres nowadays. I'm a huge fan of Slash, so I'm gonna like any band he's in, but I think VR have more to offer than just Slash and heavy riffs. They'll never be as big/good as Guns n' Roses, cause there's no Axl or Izzy there, but they can sure as hell give it a try. Their debut album, Contraband, was amazing, #1 on the billboard charts in the US for a few weeks and understandably so. I recommend Contraband as a worthwhile purchase to any hard rock fans.
They can also deliver the goods live. This was proved at Live 8; here are some votes casted by viewers after the event:
3rd. Madonna
(19699 votes)
2nd. Velvet Revolver
(72836 votes)
1st. Pink Floyd
(180574 votes)
I think that's pretty decent for such an unknown band with a hell of a lot of critics. Whilst I'm on the subject of votes, here's one:
Snoop Dogg
(767 votes)
767 people thought snoop dogg gave the best performance of Live 8...They must of turned it off when he finished.
Anyway, I can't wait for VR's next album, expected towards the end quarter of this year. I just hope they stay together and don't go out like GnR did.
Recommended songs:
Fall to Pieces
Slither
Su'ckertrain Blues
