First final destination ive seen and id say its pretty sweet, especially in 3d first stereoscopic 3d movie ive seen and id say its better than the old red/blue filters
makes you jump in places and confuses the hell out of you, when the whole thing happens then it goes back to real and he tells them, funny when he gets nail gunned to the arm.

It was rubbish, just like the rest. The best bit of the film was the New Line Cinema Logo which really stood out. No wait, actually the best bit of the film was watching the Avatar trailer on the big screen.

Not bothered about it. The 3D gimmick has always sucked.

In Final Destinations case, yes it's a gimmick. They tacked it on so people would go and see it. However for CGI films such as UP I think its fantastic, it gives everything a large amount of depth.

I don't do animation.

I just had a debate with Jonathan Ross over the Final Destination. He seems to think they're exploitation films. He bowed to me.

That film was horrible, and not in a good way. It was so, so, so tedious and the gore etc. wasn't even done well. I've not seen the first 3, so I don't have anything to compare it to, however after that I don't think I'll bother viewing them. The 3D was pretty crap aswell, bar maybe 1 or 2 bits. Overall crappy film for me.

saw it tonight, the previous three were much better, the 3d didnt make it much better either if not worse. there were no 'jumpy' scenes, only when a nail or something would fly at you and youd flinch. and the ending sucked, and i hope this is the last one

I guess there will be an extended edition/directors cut with more on the end, i would much rather have seen the actors get broken, than the xray type things, as it being my first final destination i have to say it was pretty enjoyable

but it was pretty entertaining, and i liked the xray shots, especially at the starts showing previous deaths in the series

More fool you then. Some of the highest rated films in the industry are Pixar and Dreamworks productions.

Caught the late showing of this last night and I can easily say I was disappointed by the end scene.. I mean why the hell? Do you think they were strapped for cash?

I find them goofy, predictable and infantile. I prefer to judge performances rather than voices, and I generally do not like animation.

Everyone's entitled to their opinions but I think it's awful that you're prejudging something before you've seen it. Films like Wallace and Gromit, Coraline, The Nightmare before Christmas and Wall-E are amazing. In fact I often find them more mature than 15's like Final Destination, most of them (in particular Pixar films) have a lot in for adults.

I have seen Wallace and Gromit and The Nightmare Before Christmas, and I am going to see The Final Destination for closure, like how I've had to endure the last 3 Saw films. I don't like 3D in live action because the CGI is so awful. I'm sure The Final Destination has buckets of awfully composited blood like the last 3D horror, the terrible My Blood Valentine remake. I will watch it, but have set my hopes low because it's going to be exactly the same as the last 3, and after what friends of mine have said, the story is even less built up in this than the last two sequels, which is saying something. The only animated film I have enjoyed is A Scanner Darkly, which is rotoscope animated added over live action, rather than drawings or CGI.

CGI can be awful but when done tastefully its an invaluable asset. I agree that films often go way too overboard with CGI, they build something on a computer when a model would have worked so much better. However, that said, films such as The Lord of the Rings and the Matrix, which are arguably the 2 best films of the past decade, couldn't have been done as well as they were without CGI.

Naturally, bullet time effects, colossal flying dragons and gigantic explosions, etc have to be done electronically. What gripes me the most is creatures. Puppets and suits look so much better.

A few months ago I would have agreed with you but after seeing the Avatar trailer at the cinema I was astonished. It all looks so beautiful. If its done like that then its totally justified.

I must disagree with you on Avatar. The blue Smurf creatures look so unbelievably not there it's untrue.

I'll agree with you the characters don't look real but that isn't necessarily the point of them, they are supposed to be stylized cat like creatures and I must say, I think they are fantastic.

How can you say this doesn't look great?

Was the worst out of the lot (as unlike 1 and 3 it didn't have a story line like the explosion under the plane or the photographs) but still mildly enjoyable. It just seems like they were throwing death after death though, and it only lasts something like 84 minutes so it is over pretty quick.

The 3D made it a tad better, although it wasn't anything special. Just a few bits here and there that made you jump a little.

I found it to be more of a comedy than a horror tbh. People were actually laughing at some bits as it was quite funny. "I've been trying to kill myself all day and damn it's not working" (or something along those lines) has to be the favourite quote from the film.

I'd give it about a 6/10.

I totally agree with you.
I found myself thinking a few times 'this has no storyline just death after death'.
Though I did enjoy..
...the fact he had a second premonition.
Picked up the pace a bit.

I think the film was good for a sequel, as usually after a film has already had 2 (well final destianation 2 doesnt count as that's the worst out the lot) successful sequels, it wasnt bad and I enjoyed all of it except the way they died at the end. IMO final destination 1 is the best followed by final destination 3 then The final destination (final destination 4) and then final destination 2. Also I watched it in 3D and i found it quite good, and I was even suprised when I tried to dodge and object coming towards me. I'd rate it 6/10

Watched it last night in Oxford ODEON. IT WAS AMAZING! The 3D effects really were amazing. I think only half of the effects coming out of the screen were for 3D purposes only, but nevertheless in the cinema, that was amazing! Really good film.
