Okayy, So, i've bought and installed SNOW LEOPARD. The OpenGL graphics increase feature - Do you need to enable it for certain applications OR is it automaticly enabled for everything?

And also, how do i set the homepage of Safari to 'TOP SITES'?

It's automatically enabled, in Safari go into your Preferences and it should be in there? O.o

Turns out - OpenGL Upgrades practically worthless on a macbook.. seeing as the 9400M Graphics card doesnt support newer OpenGL versions.. Great.. Apparently, A NVIDIA 9400m Driver upgrade - COULD possibly add higher OpenGL version support.

OpenCL isn't supported on my Radeon 2400 iMac either, even though it's not even a year old.

Just one of the many stupid/idiotic things Apple's doing. I swear, half the time they're doing something brilliant but then the other half of the time I'm questioning everything they're doing.

But nearly every Mac currently out has the 9400M... it can't be right..

Er, phoning them won't do anything mate..

Although I do agree, I've seen barely any speed increases and I'm dissapointed with the minimal UI improvements. I just wish they'd at least made the interface consistent..

Tbh, it will.. If i can get something about it.. Like.. Whats happening about the drivers for OpenGL 3.X..

do you think it was worth the £25 for some pretty new menus and a barely noticeable speed increase? Im still debating..

I dont get it - Why release a new OS 'Revision?' while not being bothered to include the ability to download the newest graphics driver?

I like it a lot..
I really notice the speed differences. Especially in start-up and shut down.

I have noticed quite a bit of a speed increase, and the removal of Rosetta really frees up space, athough, If I couldn't have bought it for £7.95 I wouldn't have got it, it's not worth it.

No because it's not like you're going to be speaking to the chief programmer when you phone is it. You'll be speaking to some monkey on technical support.

I'm on a Intel Integrated GMA950 so my graphics support is rubbish anyway, so I won't get the benefit of OpenCL even when the developers finally start to use it.

Only places I've really seen a difference is in start up and shutdown speeds. The rest is the same imo. Even the finder seems the same.

I do like the dock, stacks and exposé tweaks, but that's all they are. Minor tweaks.

The update broke the driver for my printer too :D so I've lost printing support for the sake of minimal updates. Waiting on a new printer driver now.. which may or may not ever come... great. I'm having to use an old XP laptop to print. Typical.

You do realise all the printer drivers are still available?
