why are people never content on this forum? just post a link if you want to show something to someone, and if you're that lazy that you dont want to copy and paste a link, then just get off the internet.

It has been requested before and i don't think it's a good idea. It will be over used, posted mainly as a reason to show stupid videos, make posts bigger and the content within them will not be beneficial. In basic terms i think it will be abused.
Linking to videos on YouTube suffices well in my opinion.

good idea and easy to implement.

I think Jin didn't want to put it on because it will increase the pressure on the server by quite a bit. I mean thats usually the reason for addons like this not to be authorised... though theres no real benefit from having Youtube enabled on the forum, except that lazy people wont have to click a link for a new tab to open in their browser.
But thats not worth it compared to the effort it'd take for Jin to install and config it plus make sure it doesn't slow down the forum. and at what cocaine said, you dont have to C+P most links, just clickies.
Useless feature to have on a forum imo, its just something flashy... Flashy like the Flashchat. You can see the comparison I'm making here. :)
@matt: i am mature lol willy.
the wonders of being able to put &autoplay=1 into the link can also be very annoying. Embedded videos that start at once.
When i tried to install it on a test forum it took like 10 min :S so its not that hard to install

I think it would be cool if Habbox Forum allowed YouTube in posts. So long as you could toggle it off in UserCP, it's not autoplay and it's not allowed in signatures.

I think they should enable it too, less mature users would use it for pointlessly for the first few days, but then it would only be used when showing songs or funny videos.

I would love this feature. It would be good in the TV and music forums especially if someone wanted to show people a funny moment or a trailer or a music video. Sometimes opening a new window does Safari in if I've got a lot happening. Personally, I'd use it in my Eurovision threads (it's nearly on season, people!) so people can compare and contrast songs and show off the rehearsals and I could lay it out all nicely.
It might seem lazy to not click a link, but it would be a nice thing to have. If Rick rolls are posted excessively, the feature can be taken away. You don't know if you don't try...

Black_Apalachi

This thread should basically be renamed to, 'Can we replace the Spam forum with a YouTube forum?' because that's what will ultimately happen.
As for the lag issue; when I click a YouTube link it has opened and started playing within two seconds max. If anything, it would just lag up the forum whenever you open threads with one or more videos in it.

Mods would be required to watch any video they came across beginning to end to ensure none of it broke the forum rules. It's seriously never going to happen.

Well do CH allow offensive language/rude content etc that Habbox doesn't allow? If not than how do they moderate the videos?
Also, you can hardly disallow something so generic specifically from Spam.

honest to god i really dont see why you cant just make do with links?
Rickroll videos / offensive videos = Ban from the feature for a certain peroid or a warning
And to whoever said they would not like to moderate the vids.. they have to do that anyways by checking the links to see if they have bad words, then adding a warning to the post..
i don't see much more videos been posted than there already is

I dont think its a good idea, the fact that most of the forum are teens and that all the immaturity on here will lead to people posting autoplay videos with sexnoises and constant swearing will lead to outrage.
GommeInc

I don't see why links can't be used, but then again you could always take a happy medium, which is have the videos in a sort of spolier type thing (where the video is immediately put into something that appears like a spolier, and can therefore be watched at your own peril). Sort of like the image size feature, where the video appears hidden "until you click to reveal/open" where it either opens on the forum as an embedded video OR on YouTube, if possible :/

Because the cons pretty much outweigh the pros.
Pros: convenient (because bawwwww, we can't paste links, bawwwww)
Cons: the biggest, and main, so only one I will mention is.. IT CREATES A HEAVIER LOAD ON MACHINES. The more flash applets you have loading, the more power the browser will need.
Yes, some people have great machines that would barely feel it. However, why should those who don't be forced to have their browser hang for 20+ seconds (ballpark, etc) because people can't be bothered linking?

How did I figure that would be the type of response? "Get a better PC then!"
I actually have NoScript block 3rd party flash, even though YouTube is on the whitelist for it. And yes, 3 or 4 videos won't do much, which is usually all most people will put in one post. I however, browse with 40 posts per page (or.. whatever the max was).
Ever tried loading 40x4 flash apps at once? Try it sometime, really.
Unless there's the option to opt-out of showing embedded youtube (much like there is for images), its a bad idea.

How exactly does a video embedded make you see what music members are into as opposed to clicking a link or typing the song?
The reason no proper answer was given in the thread was because it has been answered before, it's not necessary, if you can't click a link because you can't be bothered then you have some issues. And also it looks annoying, is annoying and it will be abused and require rules to be made for it's use, causing more moderation and more complaints regarding how that is done.

Not sure whether or not you read the links, but if you did, you'd see that its been defeated three times over.
And it is not at all clear that "most people" want it. Going through the thread I see 2 more yeses than nos (my count is 16-14 with 3 on the fence but feel free to double check). Considering that a previous poll had more voters than 30 and the majority voted no, I am inclined to give that weight too.
Moral of the story, the majority of those interested seem to be against it, and either way its rather close. Considering that the community is divided and at this time the management doesn't feel its a pressing issue, especially given that there is a very functional and simple workaround, the answer for the moment is no :)

I'm confused. It's not a needed feature because not everyone posts YouTube videos every single day, in every single minutes. If it was something worth while, then maybe :/
Besides, clicking a link takes about as much effort as watching it ona forum anyway:
1 click on a forum plays it.
1 click as a link opens a new window and plays it.
Same amount of effort :P
That said, if there was a way to post an image "preview" of a video (YouTube, Stumble etc), then that could work. Like find an add-on which you put in a [video] tag, and it takes the preview image of that video from, say, YouTube and shows you what the video looks like, then it could work.
