Aiden McGeady sent off for diving for Celtic. WOW. Bloody hypocrits, its rediculous and they should be ashamed of themselves. One of there players calls for Eduardo to be banned for diving, bet they won't be saying the same thing about there own team mate. Considering the fuss they kicked up, then they do that a week later it's just stupid.
It's good that refs are taking more action towards diving now though, so in someways Eduardos incident is good as it's set a precident, however, it's a shame it was him that had to be the scapegoat.

I think a proper precedent needs to be set.

Diving to win a penalty in a crucial Champions League is hardly the same as skipping a load of challenges and falling over for a free-kick. He didn't even turn around to the ref and ask for a free-kick.

Agreed.
Anyway its so funny that Eduardo is such an important player for you now even though at the end of last season he was a sub.
Poor transfers me thinks?

Eduardo is still work in progress, that horrific injury he had didn't help, he has the potential to be one hell of a player.
Agreed.

Agreed aswell.
Even if it was a dive, the player was sent off. Did that have any effect on the game? Yes, in Hibs favour, they were hardly even in the game till the sending off. So theres no point giving a further ban is there?
Eduarados game killed that tie off completely, and he should be dealt with severely.

That's not what I'm saying. I know it wasn't an important dive, not a penalty or anything like that but it's the fact that they went on a rant about Eduardo diving, a week later they do the same thing. And Eduardo didn't ask for a penalty either did he. For all you know, Eduardo could have fallen over too.
Agreed.

Poor Transfers :S I have to say, I've rarely talk to a football fan that has said Arsenal have made poor transfers, seeing as most managers, players and fans admire Arsene and Arsenal for making the right transfers. Eduardo has always been a great player. At the end of last season he was a sub because we didn't want to rush him into anything after his injury so I don't know what your talking about

Again, I'm not talking about the punishment given out. I'm talking about the fact that they were ranting about how Eduardo is a cheat, and should be banned e/c/t, then a week later they dive. I'm not saying McGeady should be banned either. The tie was pretty much dead already. I would like to meet the person that would bet against an Arsenal side in full form, at home, with a 2-0 advantage loosing 3-0 or more to Celtic. Even Celtic fans knew they weren't going to win, just look at the game. When there goal was offside, when Eduardo dived e/c/t there fans hardly reacted as they knew it was over anyway, even Wenger said in post match interviews that the penalty had no effect on the game. We scored two good goals after anyway. Besides, there are other people that have dived in more important Champions League games that haven't been banned either...

Well McGeady isn't the face of Celtic. He shouldn't of dived, he did, and we can't avoid that.
If Celtic scored 1 goal in that tie, when it was still 0-0, then it was game on. Celtic have beaten far better teams than Arsenal in recent times in Europe, so don't kid yourself on, please.
And what? Bans need to start somewhere, and with the attitude "it didn't happen in previous games!!!" then nothing will get done about it at all! Eduardo is hopefully the start of banning morons who dive. (providing they don't get caught out in the game itself.)

I'm not kidding myself on  I'm saying what I, and many other people including Celtic fans thought. They might have beaten teams, but not overcome a 2-0 defict to beat a top team. Plus, before the Penalty, Celtic needed 3 goals to go through, after the Penalty, they needed 3 goals to go through too. Yes I agree bans need to start somewhere, and at the end of the day it was with Eduardo and nothing can be done about that and i'm glad that diving is taken more seriously now. Why I was saying that it didn't happen in other games was in responce to someone saying that it was a crucial champs league game hence why he was banned, that has nothing to do with it.

2-0 isn't a score to be content with. If Celtic got one goal, then you must be completely biased to suggest that 1. There wouldn't be a better game of football played and 2. Arsenal would be much more under pressure, and much more likely to make mistakes, we've seen it all happen before.
To be honest, i would've been pleased just as much if we went to your ground, and beat you just 1-0, it's a top result even if we don't make it through.
It's not just the dive alone that annoyed me, take a look at how he celebrates, knowing full well he just cheated.

Yeah, I agree about how he celebrates. That annoyed me too as it wasn't needed.
