I use MozBackup (http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/).
You can backup all your bookmarks, mail, contacts, history, extensions, cache etc. It's an easy way to backup and restore things from all kinds of FireFox applications.
Just backup what you have and save it onto a USB and then plug your USB into your email, install Mozbackup on the labtop and restore the account.

I just copy everything in this folder:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla
And everything in:
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
Install Firefox on the new computer from www.getfirefox.com and then merge the files together :D
