I bought this HP DV6-1210SA after noticing it was a brilliant spec laptop and would do brilliant graphics work. I have the laptop, and I'm VERY satisfied with it. Its a brilliant gaming machine, being able to run The Sims 3 on all high settings. I have a couple of questions though.
Firstly, the battery meter in the system tray. It tells me the percentage of battery left, but not how long it will last. Any way of fixing this?
Secondly, the battery life is a bit rubbish. I note that HP sell a 12-cell one for £129. Is this worth it, can I get it cheaper elsewhere in the UK, and can I charge it while it isnt in the notebook?
Theres also a couple of other things I'd like to know.
Can the illuminated HP logo on the lid be turned off?
Is there a way of finding out the temp of the PC?
There's a Windows 7 upgrade kit that I'm eligible for. Would I lose all my data by installing this? And likewise, would I need to accquire a new recovery disk from HP?
