I could go and buy this:

www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3357217/c_1/1|cat_14419152|Home+gym+equipment|14419293/Trail/searchtext>WIEGHTS.htm

(I know it's not the best equipment out there but it's only really the weights that matter.)

As soon as tomorrow but I Haven't got a clue how to use it correctly. I have a brief idea on how to lift it correctly but I don't know anything about the diet I should be on to gain muscle effectively. If anyone could give me advice on how many reps at what weight/muscle building diet I would appreciate it.

Thanks. :)

You need (a lot) of protein, eat correct meals (i.e, dont skip breakfast) and yeah.. you should be all good.

If you want a snack, peanuts are good to eat iirc

Pretty much what Blinger said. Include a lot of protein in your diet, don't do a workout for over 45 mins (especially if you're a beginner). Do as many reps as you feel comfortable and don't put on too heavy weights. Eat something after training, peanut butter on toast would be a good idea. And remember, lots of rest. Your muscles don't grow in the gym, they grow whilst you're resting. If you ache the next day don't do any weights, just rest... I tend to do weights every couple of days, usually 4 or 5 out of 7 days a week though.

You should also buy some dumbbells for your biceps and triceps. Benchpresses are good though for your chest muscles, and they do do your arms. There are plenty of videos on youtube to see "how to do weights".
