I have 3.5.3 or something like that.. I go on it, its fine for 10-20 seconds, and crashes and shows the 'crashing error' report... Idk what to do... I don't want to use Chrome :(!:eusa_wall I uninstalled/reinstalled it. I tried using a lower version too, and it doesn't work, still crashes...
It was working fine for like a month when I updated it... idk why it did this now!!:eusa_wall:eusa_wall

Does this for me and Matt Garner too, it's a **** build of Firefox IMO and I have been forced to use Chrome.

download chrome; http://www.google.co.uk/chrome
or alternatively use opera for just a couple of days, until it's fixed; http://www.opera.com/download/
or you could just download the older firefox 3.0.x versions until it's fixed; http://9down.com/Mozilla-Firefox-3-0-14-214084/
until it gets updated.
thanks ~ stefan.

You have the Anti Virus then?
Found A Great Wee Gadget That'll Help you if you computers slow.
http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html
it Basically shuts down non-important background Programes.
Really clever. and its free from viruses, I recommend it
Its Not just for games I use it when my compute had slow bursts. :>

Thanks, but it's a little off-topic.
It's a major issue with Firefox and not our computer specs.

Has your firewall blocked Firefox? It can do at times. You have to make an exception in your firewall settings.
Internet > Change Firewall Settings > Exceptions > Tick Firefox
Allow exceptions should be on too.
Hope this helps.

Basically just click skip and all your taskbar items will be still running. then click Switch to gaming mode. then you will see all the unnessecary programmes being turned off.

Have you got SpyBot Search and Destroy.
Adblock Plus
if it is caused all by the same popup company e.g. Bignet daddy, you delete that from Program files

SpyBot SnD failed for me, doesn't work I believe. I'll check adblock plus, but I don't think it blocks these ones? I can't remember the Program, I downloaded a lot :(

I'd like to keep my OS healthy and use CCleaner to uncheck certain process started from the first start that I don't need to be started...

Ahhh There must be a background programme that makes the transparency run.
emm I thought you used Vista hmmm...
If it makes your computer faster coud you not live with the transparency being temporarily off? :L
And anyway its not permanent so d/w :L

I've used FF for years and it's always been great until about a couple of months ago it kept crashing and being really slow so I had a nice excuse to try out Chrome. Haven't gone back since :).

i've been using chrome since their beta stage (1.0.x) - never ever gone back to firefox, it's so over rated IMO.

As far as I can tell, usage is the only thing really. Sounds stupid but maybe it's only happeneing to those of us who have used it the longest.

I didn't have problems with the latest Firefox until I had to reinstall Windows Vista after a hard drive failure. Ever since then Firefox has been crap. So I had to switch over to Chrome.

:( NO! Probably because cause I installed something in the hard drive? Hmmm... It was working for 10 mins, then it decided to crash...
If it's about usage (doubt it), then no wonder...
Seems to crash for me on vista, but not on 7.

i use various add-ons, but chromes simplicity and speed wins me over all the time, plus it's still being developed, at a fast rate, add-ons may well be in the pipe lines. :)

chrome is getting VERY good though, google have done it the right way, made it super fast, and are slowly adding more features, like the themes, and add-ons in the future. :)

Chrome hasn't crashed for me yet but still it's not super fast. I don't think it's as good or fast as FF or even Opera were when I first used them, but it's still been a very reliable alternative up to now.

The latest Firefox version seems to be horrifically bad. I had to system restore this XP laptop because it was having problems playing videos and it took about 5 minutes to start-up which is quite bad, as well as having laggy moments, and it looked as though it was a Firefox issue (considering this laptop is rarely used and the only thing that had changed was Firefox, and maybe a few updates).
