A friend told me about this thing, you bookmark something, then it recognises commands and then you can search twitter and stuff straight from your address bar like

Good afternoon Sir O'C. We have discussed the matter, and there is no further need for this thread and it's existance other than to discuss the usefulness of Shortwave (http://shortwaveapp.com).
Good day and regards. See ya in college

Nah, drag the bookmarklet to your bit below the address bar, then you click on that.
I only used the address bar because the college computers didn't have that bar on the browser.

Ooh thats harsh.
To avoid a mod on my back i must add: please actually attempt to drag the button to the bar.

I did this, but i thought you entered like 'w Alex' into the address bar, not a little popup box, it defeats the object

You don't need ubilsdfbsdfksf or whatever, follow these simple steps:
1: Right click in the text/search field and select "Add a keyword for this search"

2: Fill in the desired info:

3: Click save and you're done.
Now any time you want to search something in twitter, just type t(or whatever you put as the keyword in step 2) and then what you want to search for. Eg. t kanyewest will search twitter for kanyewest as if you typed it into the search box.
I use this handy shortcut for youtube (yt video), google (g search term) and many more.
Enjoy!
