Ok, so I installed linux, and now im fed up of it, and want to install my windows vista. One problem, I click my hardrive and it says windows cant install to it, due to it isnt formated to NTFS. Does anyone know how to format it to NTFS. I am willing to send money to you via mail if you can help. Im willing to send up to £50 if anyone can help.

Thanks

Just put your Windows disc in, reboot, go to install it, and format the drive to NTFS (there should be a like somewhere below where you choose which hard disc to install Windows Vista on), then choose either quick or full format, and that's it, bobs your uncle.

when it comes up to your hard drive, there should be writing in at the bottom, in blue (this is just by what i can remember, so i may be slightly wrong) click it. I think it says 'format drives' or something.

Re: Failed to format the selected partition (Error: 0x80004005)
in short if you delete that partition and create a new one, you will be fine. Alternatively you can just install straight to the entire disk and update the size after the fact.

Which is, WOW, basically what I posted in the beginning. It doesn't matter WHAT your running, it matters what you're GOING TO INSTALL. If you wouldv'e read the posts I had, you would've understood it alot more.

That was already posted, it will help you 100% and you will have no need to ask anymore questions if you read through the whole thread.

Yes, delete all partitions and then create a new one and format it to NTFS. Or it might automatically do it without you having to create one when you click install.

Yes! Have you actually read that thread? You delete your only hardrive, which will wipe out everything, and then you partition, etc etc. Read the thread that was posted.

thing is, I dont wantr to delete it and not be able to create another 1, as I have 2 atm right, it wont let me crreate 1 becuase the new button wont let me click, so I might delete them and it might not let me create another one!

Well it's the only way you're going to sort it out, either that or you stay with what you have right now. :(

Sorry, that's all I can do to help.

Hope I've helped,

~ Stefan.

Save your files on an external harddisk, usb? Export to another computer?
Then you should be able to delete all, you can later make partitions again after installing windows.

If you want your files, save to a flashdrive. If you don't, DELETE THE PARTITIONS! There is no other way to create a new one unless you delete those two. Nobody can help you now, you have your answer.

SELECT ONE. DELETE. SELECT THE OTHER. DELETE. CREATE NEW DRIVE. INSTALL.

I doubt you'd pay £50 when for that price somebody in a computer shop would do it.

Do what the others say, that's all you can do...
