I wouldn't call Shaun of the Dead and 28 Days Later "classics". They're only a few years old and they sure weren't instant classics.

No, it doesn't, but that poster put "classic" beside them - and that's him, not you.

Way, way, way, way, way, way, way more people like Jaws than not, it's one of the most beloved and influential films of all time. The original blockbuster. The first film EVER to break the $100m barrier at the USA box office. The film that created the summer movie. An originator of the sequel trend. 25 million people didn't tune in to watch it in 1981, making it the third most watched broadcast in ITV history, for no reason - that was half the entire UK in '81. It single-handedly kept multiple generations out of the water through fear of what lies beneath.

I could go on and on with Jaws facts.

The problem is modern audiences won't appreciate Jaws because they are brought up on fast cuts, MTV editing and frantic paces, not well-built and told stories. They'll also have a go at the shark not being CG.

But the facts are quite irrelevant when the thread is about your personal opinion, amirite?

No, I was reinforcing my opinion. Someone said "You liked Jaws?" as if to say that not many people do, so I was giving the facts that show how it is one of the most beloved films of all time.

Are you saying i didnt read it? Because i wouldnt quote it and say something without having done so. Its not just this thread that youve backed something up with how well its done in the box office. And youre still doing it, even though flyingjesus prooved you wrong by you hating on artists (music) yet they have proven to be popular..

Get back to your film, if youre meant to be up in ireland now..

oh, and i am surprised that IB wasnt on your list

I've backed up box office success when talking about box office success. As I have stated a million times, box office success doesn't make a good film.

No, I am not in Ireland for another 2 weeks.

There was a storyline?

I thought it was just action scene//action scene//action scene//action scene//action scene etc... not enough time between fights to have a real story going on. Boring as hell

it sub-conciously affected everyone's views. no-one can say they watched and evaluated that film without once thinking about the joker/heath ledger thing.

I can honestly say, hand on heart, i didnt think about the heath ledger's death. The acting he did made it a better film, but thats coz it was brilliant acting. but i dont judge whatsoever on his death.
