Spellchecker in Posts

Yo yo yo...

I was just writing a post and i realised how terrible i am at speling (see what i did there <)

And i was thinking it would be a great idea if whilst writing a post, if you type a word wrong, a line appears under it (like most spellcheckers), but when you post it dosent show (incase you are intentionally spelling a word wrong or using a word that dosen't exist)

Just a thought, i keep getting stuck on 'unfortunately'

if you use firefox you can have this add-on anyway. don't know about other browsers.

No point adding this feature - browsers come with spellcheckers and not everyone will want it, guaranteed :)

It'd be cool, but that many people who talk like... damaged people, will get really pissed off by the correction. Theres a small contingency mind you, but yeah, might as well keep it as it is. Dont improve a system which hasn't got a problem, yano.

You could have it like Google Mail and you just click "Check Spelling" at the top rather than it doing it automatically.

If anyone feels that strongly about having a spell checker though they should either use Firefox or Chrome (I dunno if Safari has a spell checker?)

And if you use Internet Explorer, install the IE spell plugin: http://www.iespell.com/

Google Chrome has a spell-checker built in. No add-ons :).

Yeh, Spell Checker comes with Google Chrome and Firefox I know that for sure. As there my last two browsers i used.

There is one for IE and as other have said it looks like every other browser has one also. Not sure if there is something for VB like this though.

This is down to the end user, it's really their responsibility to ensure their posts are (or aren't) spelt correctly not ours.

We won't be adding any sort of site based spell checker any time soon but there are plenty of browser add-ons and toolbars which you can use to spell check your posts. :)

seriously though, you can turn it off in settings, because i dont want it for other sites, just HxF, and im getting sick of having tp open google and typing in a word that i dont know how to spell, then having them point laughing saying 'did you mean', yes i did mean that!, that was the whole point of my visit to google!!
