No, that would be copying

Maybe a mode where you run throught the story mode in co-op and have 1 life, and if you die you lose?

Have you EVER played Battletoads? That is extremely bloody annoying.

Naa, its already been done, they'd get ripped on for copying, and I can't see it being improved on either.

Let a good thing die on a high.

gears of war 2 has horde, similar idea which is what the thread is asking, "something like".

I think it should, but it shouldn't be focused on much but is there to give the game more variety.

Robert Bowling said MW2 is not taking any pages from WaW's book, so there's no chance.

Zombies is fun but Spec Ops will be better

They haven't copied GoW, if anything they've copied terrorist hunt from Rainbow 6.

You obviously dont understand the rights to using a game engine. The company that makes the game engine sets it a price, or the game company that want to buy it enquire it, however the company that want to use it, have to purchase the rights to use it. I remember a Battlefield game using a Gears of War engine if I'm not mistaken.

However, it could have been Activision that created the engine therefore giving it to Treyarch to use to make the game.

WRONG...-ish

You're right that Activision now own the rights to the engine, but they didn't create it. Infinity Ward created it way back in 2006. By the time the first 'draft' of the engine was out, Activision was looking to the future and wanted to make COD an annual 'event'. So they asked Infinity Ward for the engine, gave it to Treyarch, and Treyarch went over it for over a year and optimized everything you see in COD4. I do believe that Treyarch have actually helped Infinity Ward with some tidbits from the COD:WAW engine.

That make sense?

Also, I don't get why everyone says "dey copied the engine, lol", when really... what else were they supposed to do? Creating a new engine from scratch would take too long and Activision would be like "where's our game", Treyarch would reply "lol i dunno, engine still being made.". After less than three seconds of consideration, Activision would be all like "lol ur fired."

Blame Activision, not Treyarch. They did the best they could and they get nothing but "blah blah cod5 sucks". Poor poor guys.

Well in all honestly Infinity ward have created a completely new engine, theirs no reason Treyarch couldn't of done the exact same.

They should of made their own then, Not use IW's.

And yes i know they paid IW to use it, But thats not the point.

Nope, Infinity Ward are using the same engine, they've optimized it even further.
