if my media career goes well i'd love to work for them, not just because i played it but because its a good easy way to get your name known in the industry without having to do much. And careers after sulake would be easy.

im sure nearly all staff are on the same wage of about 30k a year? which is a hell of alot compared to what nurses etc get.

i'll be looking back in the future and going "college, what a ******* dip in your life that makes you feel ****" LOL. Yh im taking media but all i hear every day is "sue, lots of money, sue, lots of money" so i tend to look on the side where i won't get sued and won't need lots of money for a kick start.

Accipiter

it just means the position you'd be at :P

it would be like Paris/france (dunno if their is actually a team position in france just a guess) if they were looking for the staff position their. but if i wanted any job their it would be ad sales, they seem happy, lmao.

tbh i'd go their to go large, then when i feel like retiring spend a few years again with them, just to calm it all down.

And when you hear of bucho & ludus working from home its usually under their own choice etc but they always have shifts at the company building.

Do you have to have any training to be a mod? i'd love it as a part time mod, aslong as they don't trace my ip.

Yes, most of their jobs are advertised on specialist sites or they go through agencies to get someone because they want experienced staff. Most of their staff worked on IRC or AOL networks. If you were ever a habboX they might accept that as work experience?

22-09-2009, 02:46 AM
Yeah, I'm planning on applying.

I'm sure they'll accept me with my 2 perm banned accounts and Laggings having like 5 30 day bans.

Yeah I'm so going to be accepted :)

redtiz works from home... if she ever shows her face.

you don't have to tell them about your past account? just say you played earlier on and if they say what was your account say you forgot xD

I renember asking a mod about this but he/she said they dont hire anyone who has played on habbo before

Probs because most people who play would perm everyone and give out free furni to people they know.

22-09-2009, 01:35 PM
it's a lie though. numerous members of current staff played habbo before. anyways, no i don't plan to, i want a better paid job to be quite honest.

22-09-2009, 01:39 PM

30k a year is higher then the national average, for you clueless bints.
But I don't believe the useless habbo staff get anywere near that. For the basic customer service skills they offer, they don't even do the programming side, do they? I'd think around 20k for a post-graduate kids in there early 20's.

you obvo see their job as just logging onto habbo and doing crap jobs then, its alot more than that. And it takes a fair bit of training to get to their position thats why their on such high pay. and tbf, i wouldn't really call 5 days a week from about 11 till 5or6 is full time. i'd be pretty much happy with a shift like that.

And who ever said people who just go "oh wow i played habbo, now im staff" i don't see it like that, i know i have to work to get places, or else i'd have quit my media course in college right now :l So don't put me down as a pathetic noob who sees becoming habbo staff as easy.

And tbh 30k a year for 1 person in a family is quite a stable income, and seeing as im going down the media path i can also do freelance work for local media companys on weekends to earn more cash. And tbf, money isn't life, i'd hate to live a life where i hated my job.

Their UK offices are in London so I guess most of the work would be done there - so I suppose they just generalise as London/UK. If I remember correctly it also says London/UK for the Moderator position which is done from home.

And I'm not sure, I probably wouldn't reply. But would be interested to see how things are done 'behind the scenes'

tbh what a habbo player see's of staff is probaly 10% of their whole job.

I agree, you can do much better in that field of work, hence staff tend to leave after a year or two into a better job. Moderators are supposedly well paid for their type of work though.

i know that some parts of the job are well paid, like player support for what it is. i don't think it's all that strenuous and it's a comfortable wage, especially if you're quite young which they tend to be.

They all wont be on the same salary, a salary is based on a role and the amount of work you have within it (and a whole lot more) I.e Site Mgr wont be on same salary as Customer Support. They work a 9-5 day, no company would pay a 30k a year for 6 hours work, 5 days a week? It'd also be unlikely that a company like Sulake would take you on with just a media qualification. Most jobs these days are based on essential and desirable criteria, most of which is based upon experience in similar roles.

im 16 you ***, i can't jump straight to media in the same class as bbc, and tbh, i don't care about money aslong as i enjoy my job.

i dont think you'll be saying that when you've got rent/mortgage, bills, car, all to pay for each month. Think someone needs a bit of life experience

i found out something interesting.
on the singapore mod app it says:

The expected salary range for this position is 2000 - 2300 SGD

which is abouts:

£880-£1012

dunno if its yearly wage or not

are payments all the same? or in some hotels mods get paied more?

Immenseman

that will be monthly which is like 12k a year for a part-time job which all you have to do is sit down. not bad considering you could fit it around studies etc.

I expect they are paid heavily per hour. As I said, the moderators are well paid for that kind of career, I expect it's to do with having to be very hands on and dealing with kids. Also it says the site producer's (hotel manager) salary is 4000-5000 SGD, which would work out at just under £30k.
