View Full Version : What happens if you switch off 360 during an update?

It asked if I would like to do a system update at 12:58 and has been stuck on the update screen with the progress bar empty ever since. The clock at the top has even stuck at 12:58 and the B button to go 'Back' won't work.
Even though it instructs not to, my only option is to turn if off and back on.
Is there any kind of risk in doing this? Cheers.

Didn't the 'E' error message start from turning off your console during the NXE?

I once turned off my PS2 when it was saving a file when it said "Don't turn off, saving game" and It got rid of the game file and everything on the memory card. But I dunno what not getting the update or cancelling it half way through would do.

Ha, I remember being dead paranoid about even something as minor as removing the memory card from a PS1/PS2 just while it was switched on! :P
I'll close this thread now. Thanks everyone :).
