Shame he failed to be fair, but a very crap end to the series - watching some production guy tell Ben 'We'll get you your money back'.

Terrible :(

End was funny.. but to be fair, he was only one off. Funny how he can predict the lottery but can't get a 1-35 chance roulette wheel, no?

Exactly, poor Derren. He's probably feeling pretty crap about himself right now, since it was live and has only just finished. Probably quite embarassed too, that Ben looked quite let down - an utter anti-climax. He seemed really sorry, though, funny the guy at the end. They could've waited another minute to say that, haha!

Exactly - it's mostly trickery. The 1st and 2nd things he did could have easily been done through camera trickery and actors, but this one, which was impossible to fake, didn't go to plan - however, you must give him some credit as he was only one off. He's not completely a failure of course, but a lot of his stuff is just tricks.

He's an illusionist, it would be stupid to believe otherwise, especially as he says so himself at the beginning of all his shows! Having said that I'm genuinely sick of trying to defend him, this series as been horrible and full of very little genuine magic, its been mostly flat out lies or fails. It kinda makes good TV but it pisses me off that he still tells people it's real over and over again despite knowing full well it isn't. If he told people these were tricks he might get a better reception.

What gets on my nerves is how he did the seat and lottery shows and wasted an entire hour, then revealed through a hint at the end and in the credits that what you have just seen is all utter rubbish. It's like laughing in the face of those who understood the hint and saying you just wasted an hour of your lives, then the others who didn't notice think "Oh so that's how he did it, wow, yeah,".

Oh lord you're all so gullible. It makes good TV. Good TV = C4 profits. It's all smoke and mirrors television.

I work in TV. Yes, it is smoke and mirrors, but it's still a complete waste of the viewers' time.

I'm 99.9% sure everyone would complain if he got it correct, probably accusing him of fixing the roulette table or being in a fake casino.

It was good television, and it just proves that TV doesn't make everything so safe and magical all the time.

Fake or not fake, I enjoyed The Events on the whole and they were entertaining.
