Hey, im looking for a decent keyboard, must have the following:
Silent type keys (Possibly like laptop ones)
Media Controls (play, pause, backwards, forward, volume control)
Would also like it to be backlit but I don't mind if it's not :)
Also, preferrably logitech :)
Don't know about silent keys, but the Logitech G15 is a great keyboard. (the updated version)

Quite expensive for what it is and it's far from the best thing I've ever bought (Hello MX Revolution ;)) but it's good.

Had a look at the G15 and it is a tad expensive for what it is :P
Looking for something under £40ish
Backlit keys are not a must have :)

From what I'm reading you want a nice one with LOADS of extras involved, well there is one that I used to use its £25 from argos and called Microsoft digital media "black" keyboard 3000 it has everything you want and works with Windows XP and Vista and probs Windows 7 heres the link:
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/0622316/c_1/1|category_root|Office,+PCs+and+phones|14418968.ht m (http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/0622316/c_1/1%7Ccategory_root%7COffice,+PCs+and+phones%7C14418 968.htm)
And if you don't have a argos near you just google it and see what comes up! :)
also check this microsoft site: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mouseandkeyboard/productdetails.aspx?pid=083
gives you loads of information on there keyboards.! :D

Possibly the best keyboard I have used in a long time.
- Soft touch keys
- Media control buttons
- 5 Customizable buttons
- Loads of features
Honestly it is fantastic. It also have a curve at the front with leather on it - so soft! I can honestly say you do realise the leather is there - even though you wouldn't think yourt hands would touch it - believe me they do!
Downside is:
- You get a mouse aswell (the mouse is FANTASTIC though :D)
The mouse is made to fit a hand so it has curves going in to fit two fingers and a thumb. Again very comfortable to hold - laser and wireless.
The keyboard is wireless along with the mouse - honestly you will not regret it!

Good picture there.
Hope this helped :)

I had a microsoft keyboard, can't fault it. Tbh all microsoft hardware I've used is excellent, the only real complain is the keys aren't "silent" as such, they make a noise but its not like its unbrearable lol.
I have a saitek eclipse III atm and I'd wholeheartedly recommend it if they keys weren't so loud :( My saitek eclipse I didn't have that problem though, it was pretty quiet. Everyone seems to like the eclipse II so I'd go for that!

The keyboard I reccomended isn't completely silent - but then people always say I type very 'hard'. Mind you at the same time I am a very fast typer!
And I agree about microsoft hadware. It is normally very good and the keyboard I reccomended.. mmm leather!
Haha I love it xD

A keyboard is a keyboard, so long as I can press three buttons at once, has the standard media keys and not be unbearably loud, it's fine IMO.
I don't see a need for these fancy-shmansy keyboards with LCD displays and crap on them.

I always spend a bit more than I planned and it never seems to pay off :P knowing me ill break the computer and end up using a laptop or something if I bought an expensive one like that.

Now I look at it, that's identical to the eclipse III but it has eclipse branding and doesn't have the WASD keys in a different colour. Rip off!
