There is always tension between religion and politics... HUH?

Okay so I'm doing this essay for religion but all I have so far is Northern Ireland and The Taliban against america. Any other examples of politics mixed in with religion?

christians are prosecuted in the middle east in communist countries religion is limited in russia around 1920 ish the church was prosecuted because of the communists. ERM There are many cases like Muslims wanting to dress in full head coverage in schools and stuff like that, that's political religious tension in the uK

The British Mandate of Palestine was split and given to form parts Jordan and form Israel, but yeah you are right thats a religious conflict with politics involved.

Excellent example of America supporting the Jewish after WWII, while the Muslims have been "pushed out". There's been much tension over it in the middle east and Israel has caused a lot of conflict. Not only does it originate back to the British Mandate which Undertaker mentioned, it goes back thousands of years where it's apparently the homeland of both Judaism and Islam.

Not sure if you wanted modern examples only but there are the crusades which was basically Christians (western countries) vs Muslims (middle eastern countries).
