Hiya
Basically I used to have blackberry pearl 8120 which i loved until I wrecked it lol
I've had an iphone for a year this christmas and i want something new now. I do like the iphone but I miss the lack of standard features tbh n would find it expensive to buy another one as mines is the crap 1st gen one.
So I think I am gonna get a blackberry curve or something!
Thing is I know theres a good few of them out there now, I dont know what ones are new and all that and what I can get for a good price as I don't wanna spend a HUGE amount Cheers

You will regret going from the iPhone to a BlackBerry, I assure you.
But anyway, my uncle has the BlackBerry storm... and it's pretty awesome, some people don't like the big button screen feature - but I love it!

I forgot to mention sorry, if I do get one it will defo be a curve not a storm or bold.
Also I dont know if I will miss the iphone that much... I do really like it but i find it very slow and so easily damaged - maybe thats just cause i have the 1st gen brick though lol, but i cant afford to buy a new iphone

The 3G/3GS are major improvements over the original. Just get one of those plastic cases that are floppy plastic (i call them condom cases, don't ask lmao) for your iPhone, that's what I have done. And it isn't slow at all... it may be if you have it jailbroken with a theme on, if so just take the theme off and take unwanted stuff off your iPhone (like old music ect) ~ which should speed it up a little bit more.

No, MMS has been enabled on 3G and 3GS, legitimately no 3rd party apps needed, it's been available since the release of OS 3.0, but if you jailbreak your original iPhone (one with the silver back) then I'm sure there is a hack in Cydia to enable it on their too... just checked on mine and it's called ''Enable MMS for 2G".

Ive the 8900 curve and its the best phone ive ever had and its pretty awsome!
I already had an ipod touch and thought there is no point getting a iphone because they are basically the same, and now I have the best of both worlds and I hardly use my itouch now cause teh music is so good and easily accessable on the BBC.

that's the problem with most people, they assume that having an iPod Touch is like having an iPhone, I thought that until I took the leap from iPod Touch to iPhone, and TBH it's a totally different concept and experience all together.

Well ye but the one MAJOR difference is the phone, you can still put apps and things like that on it.

you can't really compare your iphone to the 3g or 3gs, it's slower, older hardware, crap graphics, doesn't allow MMS, and if you don't use apps then you are missing out on the iphones best feature.

The one with the optical pad rather than the trackball is the newest one, I've played with one and personally I don't find it as good as the trackball but other people do so maybe its just me!

which one?
OPINIONS ON THE BOLD PLS?
Alkaz
11-10-2009, 12:10 AM
The bold - too big, the camera isnt as good as curve. Its easier to type, but once you get used to curve, thats easy too. The curve is alot better because its smaller, better camera etc. The bold, is just too big.

Yeh! You are rite!! That is why I had an iPod Touch 1G, when it first came out, yes? When the AppStore wasn't even thought of. And yes. There is an App for anything and everything.

I have used, and absolutely hated the curve. I just find blackberry OS really limited, even compared to winmo.

Winmo is a lot of things, limited ain't one of them though! Slow and bloody useless are more accurate :P Oh well, one more year on it... :'(

Aw Alex. I'm ashamed to admit that I've fallen in love with Windows Mobile 6.5:P.

Aw Alex. I'm ashamed to admit that I've fallen in love with Windows Mobile 6.5:P.Ditto, I've been playing round with it for a bit now and it really is a good improvement. The only difficulty is I'm struggling to tell what's an update in TouchFLO/Manila and what's an update in 6.5. Haven't tried My Phone yet but the Marketplace is very impressive.

MyPhone is probably the best piece of software from Microsoft's mobile division yet!. I flash my phone about once a week and myphone automatically syncs my entire phone (even my music on my SD card) with a Microsoft server.
The latest TouchFlo makes an iPhone's interface look about 2 years out of date:P

I hate to state the obvious... the iPhone interface IS 2 years out of date :P
I just flashed a WinMo 6.5 ROM to my phone and it was buggy as hell (not that it flashed properly in the first place) and seemed to be part WinMo 6.1 anyway (thanks jordy :() so I'm going ROM hunting :D

I still say Android, you can see how many ROMs there are for WinMo and Android just by visiting the XDA-Developers.com forums! So much choice.

The few times I've used android it's been pretty good, but I've not been able to find many good applications I wanted for it, but perhaps that's changed now, as I've not used it in a few months.

Oh, I know what you mean. It all depends on the ROM cooker. NSFFAN HTC Vogue roms are awesomely stable, but when I go to the absolute newest WinMo build roms they're horrible. But NSFFAN wm6.5 + Manila is the absolutely brilliant.

Found one that works, I take back what I said earlier. Windows Mobile is now officially... useable :P
Idk whether it's just the rom but there's no lag when inputting text now and the scrolling on programs that have real scrolling built into them works flawlessly. Either way its pretty nice!

The only ting that neads to mature is marketplace. Theses not many apps and most are stupidly expensive. But freeware pocket pc has loads of freeware apps.
