Do you know how I'd go about finding a company that recruits Web coders or developers, I am building up my portfolio at the moment, but sometime soon OVH are going to cancel my free .co.uk domain and I don't have £5 in PayPal, anyways does anyone know how i'd go about finding a paying job? Prefrably(sp is bad) a job I can travel to an not over the internet.

(Assuming your under 18) Wait until your 18 (your not meant to have a paypal at this age anyway), and if your serious about it, buy a franchise in a web design company. Most of them, you would earn quite alot from and get a good business going.

However, for the moment just go and do something other than web design, do that in your spare time so you can keep improving until you are of perfect age.

I want it to be a part time job, whilst I'm still at College doing an ICT course. I am under 18 yeah by like a few months.

Thanks for your advice btw +rep.

The only other thing I could recommend is searching around your local town for a design studio, some of them do part time jobs for students, my brother used to go to one when he was still at school.

Getting a full-time/part-time job as a web developer can be hard when you're under 18 as a lot of businesses want either professional experience or qualifications which you sadly can't really have when you're 18.

If you really want to get a job early you're best looking at some start-up businesses that are only a few months/year(s) old with a low number of employees. I'm also pretty sure you'll enjoy working for a start-up business a lot more than working for a regular one that's been around for a while and has hundreds of employees.

It could also be beneficial joining a web start-up as an intern (normally you don't get paid) to build a relationship with the business and you will also start to make a name for yourself on the web (this is a great thing to do and will help you immensely if you ever want to run your own business at a young age as you'll already have a following for your website).

Finally, if you want a full-time job and you're based in the US or are willing to move there, then drop me a PM with some examples of your work as if it's good I may have something to offer you later next year ;).
