View Full Version : CPU Problem i think
My pc died a while back and i replaced the motherboard but broke the cpu in the process
My pc doesnt turn on anymore (i flick the switch and it comes on, its never done that) and the button doesnt work
I bent some pins on my cpu whilst putting it in new motherboard
Im wondering - Is this the reason for my pc not working (im about 60% sure i wired it correctly)
The pins are straight as the cpu fits

That's a bit contradicting...
System specs and exact description of what happens would be appreciated.
I know this sounds stupid, but you say the power switch doesn't work, have you got it on the right pins on the mobo, and with the (if required) + & - at right end.
And is CPU power plugged in
?
Just do all the little checks, and if nothing turns up, then it must be your CPU..

You bent them straight again is what your trying to say?
If it was, then why not just say it? lol
Im tired, and cant really explain things good :)
I followed the manual and everything is in order - but no joy

the processor won't work with bent pins - that's your exact problem chap. It's highly unlikely you bent the pins back to its original state.
