Okay, so, I used to know this boy in my school, and we were really good friends in Years 7/8, and then a day before the christmas holidays in Year 8, we were all working on a class project in History, and he was standing next to me, and he leaned down and whispered something into my ear, it sounded like, 'Would you go out with me?', and me, being completely taken aback said, 'What?' because I wasn't sure I'd heard him properly, then my friend in my group was looking at us so he goes, 'I'll tell you later.' and I said, 'Noo, please tell me now.' but he still said later. So then when the class is walking out, he says something to his friend and they both look at me, so I just feel like they were talking about me. Soo, the holidays pass and then when we come back, we don't talk, it's like we're more like aquaintances than friends, which is sad because we were good friends. Then when we were in Year 9, he asked out this other girl and they went out for about 2 months. Me and him had to sit next to each for our English lessons but we never spoke to each other and felt very awkward, I truly didn't know what to say to him. And now we're in Year 10 and I got put next to him in Chemistry, so I tried making conversation, asking him answers for questions and such and he responded normally. But recently, in R.E, we sit sorta opposite each other and I sometimes catch him looking at me, but I always look away first (:(). I don't know what to make of it, I'm guessing it's nothing, but he's usually mean in a jokish kinda way, yet today when we were waiting outside the classroom for english, he was talking to everyone else and I was just standing there waiting, and he looked at me and put his thumb up, so I did it back and I felt happy. I just want to be his friend but I don't know how, and it doesn't help that everytime I talk to him I think about Year 8, I keep wondering whether he really did ask me out, I'm too nervous to ask him about it, because it seems pointless. Me and my friends were talking about relationships in lesson and they said that I'm quite an bold person, (Which is true, I'm always laughing and stuff in lessons) so I'd probably be a hard person to ask out because I wouldn't be bowled over by flowers and things. If it's true it would explain why he whispered it into my ear.
But how can I become his friend again?
Please no mean comments, I'm inexperienced in the 'Relationships' part of life :D
