Hey,
Well im getting close to the end of my current contract so am wanting to buy a blackberry curve 8900.
I am abit confused about which data plan is needed for the blackberry services to work.
I heard u need a specific plan called a blackberry internet service data plan for blackberry pin to work and for email to work.
Can any1 with a blackberry confirm this for me. as the sole reason I want a blackberry is for the blackberry pin and email services feature

I got my Blackberry Curve about 2 weeks ago. They told me the exact same thing, about a Confirmation pin like email & pass to access internet emails ect. It actually doesn't matter. It'll just tell you to sign up and then ask you to buy a demo kinda thing about it just to get more money off you. But there's no need. Just ignore it cos they told me and my dad the same thing, and we didnt bother, but we're fine with out internet, emails etc. Hope this helps!

so the normal £5 a month unlimited data plan from orange will work fine with the blackberry services like pin and emails?

It should do! But if you have any quiries about it, just ring up Orange and ask them! :)

When I got my BBC in may I had to sign up to something with the email they send you automatically but I forgot to do that and I've had no problems. I have no problems with the internet bolt and ye, works a treat lmao :P

Rang up orange and they said the BIS data plan is £5 a month.
So ontop of the £25 a month its not bad.
For £30 i get
600 minutes
unlimited texts
Free magic number
unlimited BIS data plan [subject to fair usage obv]
Free Blackberry curve 8900
18 months.
Just brought a blackberry from orange. Like, this afternoon :L
Its not on pay as you go, I got the curve like you want, and its £19.57 month + the £5 COmpulsory blackberry internet thing. and then i got insurance as well for £6 a month.
You do need it and it's compulsory or the phone just wont go on the internet. :)
Easy to set up.
