HabboxFeedback [Idea]

Seeing the title HxF probably first meant 'HabboxForum'.

However regarding the thread about retained members, and management agreeing that members were not staying, I thought why not have a group ANYONE can join?

This group will be sent survey's every so often asking questions on how to keep the atmousphere of Habbox going. The reason people should have to join a group to do this, is because some members would not want to be part of this, and therefore would not want to answer surveys.

If I join the group WHATS IN IT FOR ME?!

Members who Participate Could..

Be entered into a draw for VIP

Have a Userbar

Making HabboxForum a better place to log into.

I know some users will hate this idea, maybe people will like it.

Basic Round Up of Idea

Make a Usergroup ANYONE Can Join

Send out Fortnightly Surveys

Surveys should be based on who to make Habbox better

Monthly Free VIP Draw for all Participants

Advantages

No extra cost to Habbox

Could Help Retain New Members

Something in it for Participants

Good Way to Get Feedback

No 'Force Read Announcements' needed

Anyway that's that idea complete. Thoughts? :)

Massive problem with this idea: you've put some of it in a grey that makes it impossible to read on the space skin :P

Its not a bad idea, kinda of a habbox focus group. Hmm...

Massive Reason:

I always forget to use the remove text formatting button.

And in the Black skin grey is the standard colour. And sometext i turned red I then wanted to use the standard colour again - so clicked grey :P That makes it stay grey on all skins (which I completely forgot LOL)

Sorry!

FAIIIIIIL.

I like this idea, but without the rewards. I would want people participating simply because they wanted to, not because of the benefits. Plus if people started joining for the userbar we'd find less and less of the focus group actually replying :P

The rewards was just an incentive.

I am not saying it has to be done, but I think newer members would be more interested in sadying why they joined habbox etc, if something was in it for them.

And perhaps someone checks who is actually active. Like instead of anyone, anyone can join once accepted, but if you do not participate you are removed?

I like the idea of this however I would make it part of the chat. Maybe a weekend session for 1 hour. Members can chat to the focus group about their concerns etc.

Then the next day or later on that day, focus group can talk with management regarding what they think could be improved and make comments on anything they deem necessary.

At the moment it seems that the interest in this from the members (judging by the number of replies to this thread) seems low but if the members really pick up on this idea then I am sure nvr and myself would back this idea.

I think to a certain extent nvr you have to add some sort of incentive. That's what originally captures their attention, then they get into for the prize and after a while they will begin to enjoy being part and thus it'll be a success... maybe... :P

I think it's a good starting idea. I remember someone posted in Feedback saying how people like to believe they're part of a group which is true. People want to feel some sort of acceptance and this is a way of doing that. Although saying this I don't 100% understand what the group will do... which is why I didn't reply earlier :) Make it clearer for the thicko amongst us :P

Well originally the idea was the focus group would be a traditional focus group of a few selected members of the forum that would be sent a survey.

Thing is...... surveys are lame, I lose the will to live when presented with a survey.

We tend to use polls and send them to everyone on the forum because we get a better idea of things as the majority of members reply to them.

However I guess what I am sort of adapting this idea into is more so a "council" type thing. Members talk to the group and the group deems what they think would be a good idea or not and speak to management about it.

Oh right. I don't think anything like a council will work once I've thought about it. It's just not practical. I thought it was more of a group that all new members were able to join and they would be entered into raffles and given exclusive competitions because they were new - which would counter the other problem of retaining new members. Maybe I'm getting confused with a different idea but I think the idea I just said would be good.

I am interested to hear why you think it wouldn't work. :)

I don't like your idea, in a way we would just be buying registrations and members in one sense.

In another way we would be favouring our new users and not our old, bit like when you get like a 12% interest rate on your savings account if your a new customer but if your an old customer then you get the standard 3%. Something which everyone hates.

I don't think it would work because the idea has developed and to seems to have evolved into a possible Habbox council. This has been trialled and tested before and ended in disaster. I'm aware that Habbox is under new management now - however this just aids my argument. The new management with you, Nvr, Sam, Rosie and Jay are much more likely to grant change than me, MAD and Adam were :P

Although I don't see it as detrimental to Habbox - I just see it as pointless. All it's going to do is cause an exclusive group, the last thing Habbox needs in my opinion. People will feel like if their idea doesn't get the stamp of approval by the group then it's a bad idea. I personally would much prefer everyone to throw their ideas into the melting pot. The melting pot being the Feedback forum in this case and the community determining what is a good and bad idea.

I agree to an extent. I see where you're coming from. However, it has been highlighted in another thread Habbox is struggling to keep new users. Obviously they are fundamental to ensuring the forum remains active.

I know the idea isn't perfect and will be widely opposed. Yet it could be pivotal in making the users return to the forum time after time. They will be in a group with other new members who are all trying to find their feet on the forum. I think the fact that huge companies and firms offer amazing deals for new users show that even the experts (:P) believe that raking in and keeping new customers (users in the instance of HxF) is vital. More important that the older, weary and grey haired members like myself.

I think instead of a council or anything random like that, we should have a monthly or semi-monthly chat/discussion on habbo or in a chat room.

@previous:
Nice of you to chime in there,

what do people think of this? A sort of Habbox Forum (?) not to be confused with HabboxForum.com :P

@Immenseman:

Yeah I see your reasoning there I don't like the idea of this exclusivity or elitism. Although I don't agree with your last comment and I believe that each and every member is important. If we treated the new users as kings and the old members as peasants despite however loyal they have been then we will lose our valued old members.

Which is why currently the comps department are thinking of new competitions for forum vip which appeals to the non-habbo side of the forum.

Certainly true. As Garion's thread showed last night (or rather as the replies showed) a council simply isn't needed. There isn't a role for them to fill really

Got to agree with Jin here in that giving more opportunities to new members alone is only going to cause grief with the current members. That said, you touched on the newbies being in a "group" with each other, which is itself a part of what I mentioned in the other thread (http://www.habboxforum.com/showpost.php?p=6104244&postcount=5) and I believe it could be implemented with some success if it was properly done so as not to take anything away from current users

Alienates those who either don't use Habbo any more or simply aren't around at the time you decide to run it. The feedback forum really is all the stage we need for getting our ideas heard now that management takes such an active role in the discussions here

It'd be good to have a weekly/fortnightly event on Habbo. Where users can "grill" / try and improve things. I think management don't get involved enough really, this would be a good way for them to do so. I know people would ultimately want nvr there which isn't always going to be the case (time zones) but if Jin/Sam/Jay/Rosie were to attend it'd be nice.

I assure you they'd always be full if you were to use a 25 person room. I think it would let different people project their ideas. It's fair to say in this Feedback forum it's the same users who are posting on ideas. It'd be refreshing perhaps to hear ideas from people who don't use the forum as much.

Totally changed from the original post but that's life for ya.

In doing that you would be, as FlyingJesus said earlier in the thread, excluding members who do not use Habbo and the people who cannot get online at the time of the meeting. There are loads of members on this Forum who don't use Habbo and who won't be interested in going on Habbo at all even if it was a Forum related event.I did notice you had a chat room at the bottom of this Forum however - perhaps events could be held there? That way it would be utilised as it doesn't seem to be used at the moment, and it would open up this 'focus group' to far more members of the Forum.

Thatwould be there problem. If the 'conference' was held on a fairly regular basis everyone could come if they wanted.

It's fine that it changes - that what the idea of making an idea is :D

And many users do not use the feedback forum, and then when they do its complaining that thye are not being heard or 'MANAGEMENT SUCKS!!11' things. But if a meeting that everyone could be in was held, it would allow people to give any ideas and give feedback on other ideas - without the 'I will caution you if you complain about habbox' stuff etc.

Like a general meeting would allow management to share THEIR ideas and members could give feedback quickly.

Something I don't see another at habbox personally, is management imo should post their ideas so members could give feedback - insead of doing things before anyone has had a fair comment. Would certainly cut down on the 'I HATE DA NEW LAYOUT. WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY'

Just an example, I remember the new layout on habbox.com first came some people were somewhat, er, alienated.

There are certain aspects where we do not want input from members. We do it because it needs to be done and benefits us.

The members currently seem to think that every aspect of Habbox is up for them to scrutinize which simply is not the case. Most things we do want to hear feedback on and will act upon it, but other things we won't take notice of.

Right now I am very interested to hear about the forum then maybe look at the site in about December time once I have destroyed it with our up coming plans which I am not looking forward to "/

YOU HAVE TO MAKE ME WONDER WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN JIN!

Anyway I certainly don't think every aspect is up to me, but I think it would be nice if with somethings management make threads in feedback asking what they think of new things etc. Some people won't like it, but that will always be the case!

I will happily give you feedback on the forum though Jin. PM me with anything - happy to help if wanted ;)
