Modern Warfare 2 was revealed last year in December, so we can pretty much the next one being announced in a few months. Treyarch are developing this time around and all we know so far is...

- Activision has licensed Vietnam and Cold War era music
- Activision have also trademarked "Call of Duty: World At War II"
- Treyarch also have the IW 4.0 engine licensed for up to four years. That license began in 2007.

So what are you expecting for COD7?

I think WWII has been done now, World at War was a perfect send off for the genre and now we can all be taken to new, exciting wars.

Yeah sorry :P There is no public beta for it, but there are beta testers contacted by Activision that are testing it. Email up activision and ask them if you can beta test, they ask for a resume btw. :)

Not one bullet was fired during the Cold War so can you stop going on about how "they might be doing the Cold War co's they liscensed Cold War era music". But Vietnam sounds a bit pointless though, that War only happened because America wanted to warn the Japanese. I wont buy it, doesn't even remotley sound interesting. It's literally going to be you going around killing villagers who are defending their property from you. :/

Activision isnt even making the game so why are you even refering to them, they are the publisher, all they do is promote and produce the game. I've been gaming since I was 3 years old, I guarantee I've played more games than you and I have more gaming knowledge than you, believe me I've seen many BETA's before, even before 360 I was gaming on PC. Source your information otherwise it's all ********. Treyarch are making the game, not Activision. BETA's are released when the game is near full completion, whats the point in releasing a BETA when the game is only half-done. Give up, your wrong :rolleyes:

I doubt Activision or Treyarch would go out of their way to contact someone such as yourself. They have more people to contact rather than the public before they announce anything.

Why would they release a BETA when there is nothing to test, it's stupid. It looses them vital revenue and there is no meaning behind it. You probably got tricked into one of those fake activision emails.

It bloody well weren't. The closest it could be to becoming a war is a metaphoric one. Was there anything slightly related to fighting in "The Cold War". Nope. Nothing happened at all apart from spying. If in CoD7 they were to do one thing related to do with the Cold War, it would have you in a room monitoring a chess game between a China man and an American* or maybe you're in a contol office listening in. Of course an alpha exists. Alphas can exist very early into the games development, it's merely a version for bug testers to iron out bugs with the engine before they start on the advanced stuff.

Wow Paul you got pretty owned here man. You've just got to face that you don't know as much as you'd like to think you do about game development.

If they're going to announce it soon as you speculate that announcement will want to be presented with some renders or a teaser video or anything and to acquire those you'd need a fair amount of models already completed.

During the development cycle things would be always tested using a simple game engine or very primative build so it's almost unnecessary to say there will be an alpha version because of course there will be.

Also if they make a 'what if' battle out of the cold war then it's not really the cold war any more is it? Vietnam would be cool but I'd totally prefer it if the Battlefield series revisted 'nam after they have already done Battlefield Vietnam on an older game engine.

He mistakenly typed Treyarch instead of Infinity Ward and we mistaked it as a Call of Duty 7 private BETA when nothing has been annouced. There is however a Modern Warfare 2 Private BETA that has been circulating around for the past 2 months and is closed now. There may be an alpha version of a level of SP right now but we know nothing as the game has barely been annouced (COD7)

There may be an alpha in development, there may not. There is no way you could know unless your an employee of Treyarch. WAW is crap because the guns are so horrible. The sound they make, the one bullet shot then you have to reload, its so annoying. (maybe its not all of the guns, but the ones i found seemed to just do that).. thats why i prefer MW.
