MacMini, "Magic Mouse", MacBook, iMac all changed
All look crap to me.
MacBook is alright but I hate the new case design, the MacMini is cool, the Magic Mouse... what the hell? lmao, the iMac looks cool but physically, by the looks of it, looks awful.

Not the best updates Apple have done to be honest. Sounds like they are running out of ideas! But anyway, it's nice to see the iMacs finally get Quad core processors. I just hope the new Apple mouse is much better than the mighty mouse with the many problems that came with. :)

iMac and quad cores?
ITS ABOUT TIME:D.
It's a shame my December 2008 Aluminum iMac is running so good. I need an excuse to get a 27 incher:(

Apple have done a good job at this update they have added and changed things that people have been asking for.
The new iMac and Macbook look very nice.

I think the 27" is a bit too large and the 21" is a bit too small, the 20" & the 24" were just right.

The 27" iMac is i5 and i7, both of which are quad core.
Shame they ruined the MacBook design, took off firewire, remote sensor and 3.5mm Mic jack tbh..

I quite like the actual design of the new macbook but I agree that they buggered up by removing firewire (and still only 2 USB ports?!), single audio in/out and remote sensor.
can i jsut mention something.. go onto here: http://store.apple.com/uk/configure/MB953B/A?mco=MTMzNzUxOTY
flick between the normal apple mouse, and then the magic mouse. the magic mouse is 1p more expensive, but look at the other prices change on the specs o.O
tut tut to whoever coded that lol. apple are all about perfection haha
well anyway, it all looks nice, and still want one lol

I still love mac's, but I still think they are complete rip offs.
For the cheap iMac in the UK it is £949
Get it in America it is 1,199$
If Apple were being fair in dollars it would cost: $1565 - so all English people are being completely ripped off?

its the same for everything. ridiculous. iPods, playstations, xboxs, tvs. you name it and it will probably be cheaper in america.
i guess the real question is, does it cost less than $365 to import it

I've watched those UK property shows and people are paying like 350K for a small, old, terrace apartment.. NUTS

From parcel force. Its not exact but its around this to get it sent to USA:
Global Express..............From 1 day(s).........Up to £ 200........Tracked.........£134.99
Global Priority...............From 3 day(s).........Up to £ 100........Tracked.........£111.89
Global Value.................From 5 day(s).........Up to £ 50..........Not Tracked...£109.49
so assuming its even cheaper in america, 1 day delivery is gonna cost us $224. So yup, cheaper
i really like them, but i think there's no worrys in thinking OMG I HAVE TO UPDATE FRMO WHAT I'VE GOT... there's no real difference, but yeah, it's still pretty cool, the magic mouse looks really confusing, but looks rly urmmmmmm.......... .... WORD OMG MYKE THINK urmmmmmmmmmmm ergonomic 8-|

Why can you get the iPhone on pay as you go and I in North America can only get it on a $90 data plan on a 3 year contract. Don't even ask about the Palm Pre. It's a 500 dollar contract fee.
It all balances out...

Well, I would consider a 27" screen and an i5 a slight improvement. I am *hoping* now that Apple's released the 27" AIO computers for $1,600, other manufactures will start going with larger screens as well. Imagine a HP Touchsmart with a 30" screen running Windows 7, that's less than $1000.
But I totally see your point. My iMac runs as good as the day I bought it, not really a reason to upgrade yet.
Having said that, if the Apple refurb store has some deals on because of the refresh I won't hesitate to upgrade;)

To be honest is there any need to sit half a metre away from a 30in screen?
Depends what you're gonna use it for. A big screen and good resolution means you could read something on the net, watch a film, design and write a letter. Something which I've tried to do on a 1440x900 19" screen. Yup, doesn't work lol

Wow, I'm really loving the price decrease on the Mac Mini, and did the base model also get an upgrade of default RAM? I'll be buying the Mac Mini, as well, I'm obsessed with them. The Magic mouse on the other hand isn't really an innovation in my opinion, I've never really liked multi-touch anything. I must admit I do feel Apple may have 'rushed' this update, maybe in competition with Microsoft?

The question is.
If someone already owns a microsoft computer..
Would they go and buy a £1000 computer or £50 for windows 7? :D
Nother thing is if you bought a mac like one week ago, you are gonna be SO pissed off.

27" iMacs don't have a lot in common with a $50 piece of software that --MICROSOFT-- rushed making to fix the Vista situation. I don't exactly remember XP or Vista being a $50 upgrade:rolleyes:

Hold on, did you just say Windows 7 was rushed? LOL. It has had tons of testing ever done before it was fully released to the public worldwide. The cheap price was to encourage people to update to an operating system that "just works". I'm sorry but your point is incorrect. Apple release Snow Leopard and these changes in time for the Windows 7 Update. Why? Because they know when Microsoft release a new OS companies such as Dell, PC World and many others do computer deals with it.
Ps. The Mac Mini hasn't had a price decrease it has been £499 for bloody ages.

And why can't Microsoft lower the price? Apple did with Snow Leopard.
Personally I think there should be a rule saying no "Mac vs PC" arguments

No no no no no. That is a ridiculous comment.
VISTA was a rush release - Win7 was in BETA etc for months. You cannot hoenstly think Microsoft rush released Windows 7.
Infact I think its apple who rush released these *hardly different* computers, as a rival for Windows 7 (got knows why - OS's and computers are different..)
And you can hardly talk about rip off upgrades. Snow Leopard had virtually no changes - atleast Win7 is different :|

First, they first began development of Vista before the official XP release and it came out years and years later.
Well obviously you will notice more changes in Vista > Windows 7. It would have been really hard to come out with something even worse than Vista:rolleyes:

There is absolutely no way that Microsoft would have made such a big deal about Windows 7, released it so quick, advertised it so much and sold it so cheap if it wasn't for Windows Vista being an utter disaster. Microsoft never sold Vista or XP like they're selling Win7 now.

XP > Vista was a HUGE step, bringing in new technologies that needed refining (which they did in Windows 7) and was a step away from all the old technology that was holding the industry back, just like PowerPC and Snow Leopard ;)
I also note that Apple released Snow Leopard fairly damn quickly, made a huge deal and advertised it loads too

Not saying they didn't, and not saying there's things in SL that I don't like Tommy. I wouldn't have bought a PPC iMac. They only became a contender in my eyes when they switched to the core 2 duos in the iMacs. Vista was just that last push I needed to buy a Mac:P.

No, the Microsoft ergonomic products are the best products in their class, they keep you comfy as hell, they look like a beast and perform like what. I use an ergonomic keyboard and I've gone through 3 of them (hey I spill stuff and yank them from time to time) and the next keyboard I get will be the wireless version of what I already have.
