Does anyone have any info on where/when the next Habbo will be?
Following the closure of China/Russia, and the 'world recession' it seems unlikely to be soon, but the question is, when? And what market will they see as next in line in terms of potential market share/consumers and profit?
Any rumours or inside knowledge on this situation? Do post!
Also post your suggestions for the next hotel, I'd like to hear where you guys think would be suitable or what is likely to be Sulake's next step with Habbo.
I for one would consider Poland (Habbo.pl)
It is a rapid growing free-market friendly economy with language and economic links to other surrounding Slavic countries, which would allow for Habbo's outside of the country (larger consumer market), who can understand the dialect of the hotel. Over 11million (of a 30m+ pop) are internet users, that's 1/3 of the countries population. (The UKs internet users amount to 5/6 as a comparison).
Not to mention their role in the EU and scope for potentially picking up some of the old inhabbitants of the Russian hotel who may prefer it to the American one, which they were effectively moved over to.
Please post your thoughts and hotel suggestions! :]
Probs be a long time before they open another one. They have enough as it is
i want a Habbo.ie :lll

I hadn't considered Ireland, come to think of it, that has much greater potential than Poland or Eastern Europe, and will likely see Habbo.co.uk/.ie users going on both hotels, great idea!

habbo.close?
Honestly for now there is enough as it is. And Ireland? What would be the point - not enough people in the country to make it worthwhile.

There's already a lot of Asian orientated hotels that aren't overly populated, they might struggle if they set up yet another over there...

Nice suggestions, UAE would be good, would be interesting to see what the culture of the hotel would be there.
South Africa's internet users are less than 10& of population, even Nigeria beats it in terms of internet connection populous.
Might be a little soon for South Korea to adopt, may take a year or two for it to lift off properly, lots of potential for the future.

Fair point about population (being only at 4 million) but half of those are internet users, and the income in Ireland is higher than other suggestions such as South Korea/South Africa/UAE as a world average, which suggests that its users may be willing to part more with disposable income for furniture than the other countries, which would make up for it's small population.

I'm beginning to like all these mystery threads you're making :P
I'm thinking habbo.gr (greenland). There's alot of people there tbh, they have their sex limit at only 14 from what I've heard. Underage sex + Habbo Hotel = Amazing profits?

57344 people lived there in 2007 (not alot) and I cant imagine them to have a very good internet connection as 85% of it is covered by ice

I don't think Sulake will expand, as their latest Hotels have closed...

yeah exactly. they've had to close a couple so i don't see them opening a new one any time soon especially not in the current climate. i would imagine they're happy with what they have.

Nice to see more support for IE ;o
A lot of people saying that it will be a while and there nay be merges, which is a good point, but I hope it won't prove to be true, I'd love to see a new hotel open its doors in 2010.
I wouldn't mind a .ie but it just links to .co.uk
Plus I've made alot off furni on .co.uk so i wouldn't say I'd move.
From Northern Ireland myself :)

Tbh, I want another English speaking hotel. :l
.com, .co.uk, .ca, .sg, .au and some others all are English, I guess the next hotel is likely to be foreign ;P
If you want an English hotel with a new feel to it, try Habbo.sg (Singapore) - It's got some great people/rooms on there, and impressive fan sites. Haven't a clue what their rares/super system is like though, but all in all it's good fun. One downside is that it closes at 3am, then opens at 7am, pretty sure that's local time, they're 8 hours ahead (8 hours ahead when the clocks go back tonight!) So closed from 7pm - 11pm every day GMT.
