Anyone care to add/subtract any? Here's the rules though: you cannot add/subtract players from your own team.

By way of definition:

What is the point in this thread? to entice arguments? well done! :)

I like how you suddenly change it to 'Premiership Standout Players' when originally it was 'Decent players', as seen here:

Who is your decent player then?

Birmingham have money to spend.
Just thought I'd point that out before he tries to pull the Wool over anyones eyes, he actually said 'decent players'.

So, I shall now go along with your post, and say whether these players are 'decent' or not.

Now, I shall get back on to your post.

Arsenal

Van Persie
Arshavin
Fabregas

I agree, yes, but other DECENT players would be Wallcott and Diaby (unsung hero)

Aston Villa

Agbonlahor
Young

Yeh, pretty much agree here, although I feel Dunne deserves a shout, along with Downing when he's fit, theres are DECENT.

Birmingham

Benitez

Agree, no qualms there, he's DECENT.

Blackburn

None

Dunne? I think he deserves to be up there, he's DECENT.

Boton

Juusi Jaaskeleinan

Fair enough, DECENT.

Burnley

None

As seen above, If goalkeepers should be allowed to be stand out players, then why not Brian Jenson?, DECENT goalie.

Chelsea

Terry
Lampard
Drogba
Anelka

There whole team is DECENT.

Everton

Cahill

They have other DECENT players, Fellaini, Saha, to name a couple.

Fulham

Hangeland

Misisng out a few I feel, Schwarzer, Konchesky, Duff, Andy Johnson - all DECENT.

Hull

None

Geovanni? good DECENT player.

Liverpool

Reina
Gerrard
Torres

Yet again, there whole team is DECENT

Man City

Given
Toure
Tevez
Adebayor
Robinho

Agree, but there whole team could be considered DECENT.

Man Utd

Vidic
Rooney
Van Der Sar

Yet again, even though they are crap this season in my opinion, there whole team should be considered DECENT.

Portsmouth

James

Agree, certainty to go down, only DECENT player is James.

Stoke

None

Shawcross? Faye? Delap? DECENT players.

Sunderland

Cana
Bent

I think you forgot Cattermole, DECENT player.

Tottenham

Modric
Defoe

Most of their team can be considered DECENT, they have a big team.

West Ham

Green

Another goalkeeper? can I see some correlation here? but yeah, why not Upson? he's DECENT.

Wigan

None

You obviously have a fetish about goalkeepers, so why not Kirkland? and did you forget about Rodellega? scored a couple in the game at the weekend, another DECENT player.

Wolves

None

See, this is where I don't get you. You put decent players up such as Jaskelienen, Green, but not Hennessey? young hot prospect, you also put Benitez? if you put him then why not Doyle, or Ebanks? both PROVEN goal scorers. Why not Kightly? Why?, all are DECENT players.

Fact is, all teams have decent players, all have stand out players, and for you to say
Birmingham have money to spend. is a pathetic exuse, sorry. As I said, all teams have decent and stand out players, but none of that actually matters, it is about how the team play as a whole, together. Which is why Wolves will stay up this year, and Birmingham, Portsmouth, and Hull will go down.

Definition of DECENT:

Something of noteworthy contribution, which adds value to something - also something that could be helpful.Get the point?

this is what the discussion was about before adam tried to twist it to 'premiership stand out players', to suite his own argument.

so yes, who do you think the decent players in the prem are?

Oh no David Villa has broken through, he's only got bramble to pass... WAIT NO, BRAMBLE HAS WON THE BALL CLEANLY FROM HIM.

United are "rubbish" this season yet are 2nd place  Every year this happens and after Christmas we go on and win the league, have you not learned?

The likes of Evra, Ferdinand, Fletcher, Berbatov, Nani all missing from that list, all would walk into any Premier League team

2-0 vs Liverpool who were 8th says it all.

You are nothing compared to Chelsea this season, and a not the team you were, it's obviously evident, and you know it. Yes you have decent players, but I don't think you will have enough this year.

Any team :P

Gallas/Vermaelen > Ferdinand
Fletchers not bad wouldn't mind him.
Nani... no thanks. He's under-rated though but just not that good. I recon he's one of those players that if he moved to Spain like Forlan did, he would shine.
Berbatov - Rather have: V.Persie/Arshavin/Eduardo/Walcott to be honest. I know he is under-rated and he's a decent player but for a striker he just doesn't score enough.

Stefan, the point has changed. To survive in the Premiership you need Premiership players. Stop trying to revert it back to decent.

the point didn't change. when i posted wolves' decent players, adam said 'oh they're not premiership stand out players!!'.

i am not changing anything, i am just telling people the facts.

To think for Berbatov, Nani and Ferdinand you could have the whole Arsenal First Team which cost around £70 Million :P

Geraint

I was reading through your argument and saw Diaby and I couldn't take the rest of it seriously.

Thought someone would say that. Take Diaby out of their team and they are very unbalanced. It's like taking Alonso out of Liverpool, look what happened their.

I would have at least doubled the list for Liverpool, but that's my team and I know the rules :P.

Ferdinand = poo ask torres
fletcher = poo

Berbatov = ok doesnt get enough goals

Love the first bit :D. Berbatov is the only United player I actually like other than van der Sar and I always enjoy watching him, I find it really surprising that he doesn't score that often.

Thing is most of the players would walk into your team

Fletcher is not "poo" at all, he has probably been our best midfielder this season and last. Giggs has been class aswell.

Chelsea will win it.

If 2 or more of liverpool's players get injired we are ******
if 2 or more man u players get injured they are ******
If 2 or more chelsea players get injured, they have cover.

What about us :(

I agree though. Liverpool are ****** if they get injures.

United are average if they loose a couple players. They have GK Cover, and average midfield cover but no Striking cover really apart from Owen who might get injured himself.

Chelsea have a beastly squad and there 2nd string could beat most premiership teams.

Arsenal have good reserves too. Not as experienced as Chelsea but we've been winning a lot with 5 or 6 players injured, and 3-4 of them are key players.
