Building a team, :P.
5 years and has he build a team? Hmm some may say yes, (daft ones)
Torres and Gerrard, what would Liverpool be like in the long run without them? I don't think this has ever come to the attention of the Liverpool fans. You know, maybe this will catch the eyes of the fans when surrealism kicks in and they have to sell them both! *Coughs* Can't get investors.
This was probably the year when Liverpool had a great chance of winning the leauge, in how long? 14, 15 years is it? :P
What does Rafa go and do, sell Alonso, the anchor of the team for a quick 30 mill. :(
That new kid that's Rafa bought for 20 million in replace for him, he's no Alonso, he won't be able to fill in the space that Alonso brought to the team.
Congrats Rafa, 5 years into the job +150 mill plus spent on building a team and you've only manage to get in 2 decent players, (stupidly, letting one go)
I think someone needs to go to Fergie for advice. ;)

Oh and i forgot to mention Reina. (Though he's nothing special!)

How do you know Aquilani isnt good enough to fill Alonso's boots?:S

I've seen him play, in the Italian league, he's nothing special, he's not even worth half of the 20 million that was paid for him.
He probably won't do the things that Alonso did when he was at Liverpool. Alonso is irreplaceable.
Just wait and see how he flops, like most players who play for Liverpool.
team with torres 2 - 0 team without torres.
it's fair enough saying they aren't the same without torres and gerrard, but united are a shadow of what they were with ronaldo.

Aquilani isn't as good as Alonso but he's a very good passer. I'd say Rafa has his attack/midfield sorted but the defence is a shambles. I like you and everything but seriously... see SAF for advice?
Hmm...
Nani, Anderson, Berbatov, Hargreaves = £80 Million
Whole Arsenal First team = Around £70 Million.
SAF Gets it right sometimes like with Ronaldo, Vidic, VDS, Evra but recently he has made some very poor transfers.

I agree, Ronaldo is irreplaceable, i don't think there will ever be another Ronaldo, if there is, not for a good few years i think.

Nani - A few more years until we see him at his best
Anderson - Quality, he's adapting slowly
Berbatov - He's Class the way he played for spurs before his slump. He scored plenty of goals last season and everyone called him a flop, plenty more from him to come.
Harv - come on now? :P Ok, he's missed so MANY games but look how he played for England in the World Cup, by far the best player when they played. - It's going to take him a few games to get back to his full fitness but he's an outstanding player.
Oh and ye i agree with Arsene, World Class when it comes to signings, Henry, Viera, Frabi, Van Persi, Walcott, Arshav, and i thought that signing of vermela w/e this season - I thought he would be a flop but he's been absolutely class.

Five years to build a team? Sorry Clowgon, he already has a team. You know don't you? The team Rafa has were the ones who wore red & yellow shirts which slotted two goals past you on Sunday, add the ones on the bench and those sat in the stands and Rafa's actually got a squad! :O
Liverpool without Gerrard and Torres would be a team fit for the Europa League. That the answer you're looking for?
Oh so you you're on about the goings on off the the pitch? A bit like Manchester United then eh? Where Manchester United need to pay off the £500,000,000+ debt they have within the next seven (or less, I can't remember) years. Am I right in thinking you're laughing at Liverpool from a financial perspective? Seems ironic for me.
I see so Rafa is a fool for selling a player who wanted to leave? A player who actually handed in a transfer request? He sold him for more than he got him for, seems a bit of good business for me. Player wanted to leave, manager sold for more than he brought.
Best chance of winning the league? Don't make me laugh.
Manchester United are trying to win it for the fourth time on the bounce which no other English club has done.
Chelsea are trying to win it after not seeing it for what seems like years.
Manchester City are looking to target the top four, it'll be another bit of competition and the same goes for Spurs.
Of course you'll also have the threat from Arsenal when they're in the mood to win.
Best chance of the title for years? I'm laughing.

I hardly know anything about football but I know that Rafa is a fantastic manager and I think keeping the same manager for a number of years is better than having a new manager every few months like other teams often do. He is great and like any manager he'll have his ups and downs, but overall I hope he stays for as long as possible.

Andersons not good. He has potential but he's not good yet. Nani, I think is under-rated but it will take a while for him to shine. Berbatov, again he's not that bad but not £30 Million. Hargreaves... he's a good player but has been a waste of money due to his injuries.

Cocky is a word that suits you well. Ok, we have debts sprialling out of controll but when the time comes Glazer will sell to an rich Arab and the way United brings in money every year, that shouldn't be a problem.
Your team is a joke, 3 straight games and you've draw ALL THREE! Not exactly World Class Opposition either, Fulham - LOOOOOOOOOOOOOL, Wigan - Hehe - Aston Villa - Not surprise, they would of beaten you on that day. :P For those 3 games you had a good squad so no excuses.
You had a chance to put yourselves right up there and you FAILED. LOOOOOL. ;)

What makes it even more funny is that they lost to Liverpool without Gerrard playing to. Imagine what the score would have been if he was playing.
That and the fact that MU had there full strength side out. LOOOOOOL.

Cocky? Hardly. You're in debt and the glazers wont be able to sell. Who would want to pay off £500,000,000+ debt? Nobody. You're in trouble and you better stand up and take notice of it otherwise you'll be in for a very big shock.
My team is a joke? Three straight games and drawn all three? OK then, ever heard of bad patches? Every club has one, the decent clubs still manage to grab points out of them.
And you're laughing at the clubs we've drawn against?
OK then Fulham are in Europe, you might of missed it the other day however I doubt it because you're an armchair fan so it would of been on your TV. They almost beat Roma but for a last gasp goal. Fulham are a very good side, they're in Europe for a reason.
Wigan? You miss them beating both Chelsea and Aston Villa?
Aston Villa, what the hell you on about over that? They would of beaten us on that day? You make no sense at all.
We haven't failed. If we win our game in hand we're in the top four... Deary me.

is it my or was ferguson a game from being sacked after 6 years trophyless?
As roberto martinez said
"Ferguson has his group of loyal fans among other managers. Steve Bruce, who was his player; Sam Allardyce, who thinks he will be his successor at Old Trafford, and others. On the opposite side Benitez is alone and thus gets stick from all sides."

Anderson is good. It depends what you call good. He's definately good, is he world-class, no. Anderson is United's best chance of getting a "stand-out" (seems to be the buzz word at the moment) centre midfielder. He's only a bairn. He would get in about the bottom 12 clubs in the prem.

I've watched Anderson quite a bit of late and he is a good passer I give him that, but he can't shoot and can't really tackle. He has some good attributes but I think for all the hype over him he isn't that good. He could probably make in the top 9-10 sides team yeah, but that doesn't mean he's good enough for United. As you say he is young so maybe he will improve but for the money spent on him, was a let down.

Make your mind up, is he a lad for the future, or is he a waste of money? :S
I have faith in the lad to become a top, top player. At United, he has the facilities to become that player. The best training staff, the best company in terms of skill and the highest level of performing having even played against FCB in the Champions League final.

For the money spent on him, I think he hasn't been worth it. I can't tell if he will improve or not but he is young so maybe he will but from what I've seen of him he's not worth the money paid for him. No doubt he will improve yes but I doubt he will be a top top player. He will probably be used as a Sub/First team on occasion. All I'm saying is I don't think he's worth the money paid for him but I suppose that's down to personal opinion.

... Torres and Gerrard, what would Liverpool be like in the long run without them? ...
We'd probably beat Manchester United 2-1 (yes, Gerrard was there but was on the bench for majority of the game), and then we'd probably beat them 2-0 without Gerrard again (or various other key players for that matter). Not to mention a nice 4-1 somewhere in between.
I would also disagree with your point about this season being Liverpool's best chance of recent years. I would have seen last season as by far a better chance.
As for Alonso, there's no point making a player stay if they don't want to. That would probably only have adverse affects on the team.
So what you're saying is an incomplete Liverpool team beat a complete Manchester United team. Kinda' shooting yourself in the foot here...
Bingo. Also the point about Liverpool not winning the league in 15 years is just shooting yourself in the other foot (yet it still amazes me how mancs go on about it so often); if we haven't won for such a long time, and United are so great, then how is it after all these years of Liverpool not winning it, United have only just caught up?

There's more to football than beating United, not that Liverpool fans would have you believe that. I think he meant more of the long run in the league and guess what? As painful as it is Clowgon is right.

Acknowledging that Liverpool were great while at the same time gloating about how United are great now, seems a bit arrogant. This clearly means it could easily have all turned around in another 15 years, so just think how stupid you'd feel then... :P
