How should it be punished? Just wondering.

No action should be taken.

Depends on the level of it

This thread is pointless. Racism, on it's lower levels, is approached in terms of punishment the same way as any other rule break? If it is excessive it may then be punished more severely. That is how it stands, and I would assume that is how it is staying!

As always it depends on the context and severity, but I don't see any problems with the PM -> Warn -> Infract route we currently have.

You're a moderator. What about discrimination considering what I've seen falls into both categorys and can be seen either way. Add the fact that the user is also inches away from the autoban list, what would the actions be?

Without knowing the details it's difficult to make an accurate decision. However, if it was just a racist post and they already had previous offences the appropriate punishment would be given - be this an infraction that leads to a ban, or a usernote. If the user is "inches away from the autoban list" as you say, it may be possible that this next offence leads to the Moderator who punishes the post contacting the Forum Manager / General Management who will ultimately have the decision as to whether that member goes onto the autoban list. It's up to them and it is at their discretion.

just as it is. although saying that i think moderators are very lenient on racism. especially in comparison to other rule breaches anyways.

edit; i take that back. i looked thru posts i knew were racist and they had been dealt with. my bad.

Depends on the levels of the racism but racism should not be allowed throughout the forum and anyone who does should be punished fairly via the system. It isn't nice and it doesn't look good.

I think it should be dealt with as its always been dealt with, the majority of you will tell racist jokes in real life so its time to stop being politically correct on Habbox trying to gain brownie points with threads such as these. It isn't acceptable, but theres no reason to demonise it more so than any other issue in the forum.

It also depends what you class as racist aswell.

Racism is the foundation of any community. Sorry to break it to you folks. Without discrimination, communities would FAIL.

To be fair I think they should get a warning first, if they disobey the rules given then they should get a temporary ban for however long the moderator wishes to give them it.

The problem with your last bit is that there is arleady disagreements over the lightest punishments due to difference of opinion and attitudes. Adding banning at a moderator's discretion would cause havoc.

If it is racism in the sense of derogative, bullying, insulting way then it is a permanent ban. It is not a matter of "politically correctness" it is a crime in the UK and is one that can have you arrested and punished via the courts.

This offence is not up for debate by the community on how it should be dealt with, therefore this thread serves no purpose for feedback, as a result....
